Garlic Butter Beans
Serving: 4
Ingredients
- 300g green beans, tipped and trimmed
- 2 tsp butter
- 2 cloves garlic chopped fine or 2 tsp minced garlic
- Aluminum foil to wrap
Instructions
- Lay out a rectangular sheet of foil on your bench
- Wash and trim beans and lay them in centre of foil
- Top with butter and garlic
- Fold foil into a parcel around beans (bring long sides together and folded over first, then both ends folded up tight works well)
- Place into slow cooker and cook on high for 45-60mins or until beans are done to your liking.
- Be careful opening the foil tent as hot steam will escape when you do!

Can these be done in bulk & without the foil?
Sure
I’d probably just stir them around occasionally to coat 🙂
I tried this for the first time tonight. At first I was sceptical thinking the beans would turn out hard but I was pleasantly surprised. Cooked very nice and tender. Will definitely be doing this again
I ended up double wrapping my beans in foil as I didn’t cut enough foil so was sceptical about them cooking within the time frame like that, especially squished into a 1.5L slow cooker but they turned out perfect! I used garlic powder and next time plan on trying without the foil so i can cook more in the same sized cooker.
