Cheesy Baked Bean Pasties
Slow Cooked flaky pastry pillows filled with baked beans and melted cheese. Great for breakfast on the run or a light snack or lunchboxes ?
Serving: 4
Ingredients
- 200g can baked beans
- 1/2 cup grated tasty cheese
- 1/4 cup grated mozzarella cheese
- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 1 additional egg, whisked, to brush pastry
Instructions
- Mark and cut a sheet of puff pastry into 4 squares
- Combine the two grated cheeses together in a bowl
- Remove excess sauce from baked bean can and discard
- Place a triangle area of cheese into one half of each square. Add approx 2 tablespoons of baked beans onto each cheese area.
- Fold the other half of pastry square over the beans and cheese to form a triangle shaped pillow. Press down along the two open sides of pillow with a fork to seal.
- Line slow cooker bottom with a sheet of baking paper lightly spritzed with non stick spray.
- Place pastie pillows in slow cooker in single layer and lightly brush top of each one with egg wash
- Cook on HIGH for 1hr 20m total using The Tea Towel Trick
- Turn over half way during cooking and rebrush the second surface with egg wash also
- Serve hot and fresh or wrap in foil for lunchboxes
