Brussels Sprouts with Bacon

Lovely tender Brussels sprouts with a hint of bacon and garlic flavour

  • Prep: 5 mins
  • Cook: 3 hrs
  • Yields: 5 serves


300g Brussels sprouts

100g diced bacon

2 cups liquid chicken stock

2 tsp minced garlic


1Place all ingredients in 1.5L slow cooker

2Cook on low for 3hrs or until sprouts are tender

3*Optional* After plating you may choose to melt a small knob of butter over each serve of sprouts

Was really hoping I would like this dish (and finally get over my childhood dread of sprouts) but alas no. There was little taste and the sprouts were still on the hard end of ‘al dente’ (cooked in my 1.5 litre Brabantia.) Won’t be making it again.

Even as a kid I have always loved Brussel Sprouts and this dish did not let me down. it was delicious so good I made another batch to freeze.
