  1. Quite yum. Substituted orange juice for the water to help keep colour. Make sure to use pears that are a little hard still.

June I use any variety of pear we happen to have available, either in the fruit basket or in store making it something we can enjoy year round.
I haven’t really noticed a difference between varieties either.

    Sure Lindsay 🙂

Depending on how ripe/what type of pears you have there may be no need to alter time though.

Ours today were on the verge of been chucked so only took just over an hour.

Brilliant. Simplicity and such sweet juiciness. I served with a small dollop of ice cream and all enjoyed. I will definitely do this again and it has ease and versatility written all over it..

  5. Winner….my daughter doesn’t like pears or cinnamon, however she loved this. Will doing this one again!
I served it with ice cream and a dollop of cream.

  6. This is so simple and yet delicious. Made as per recipe but as my pears were extremely ripe only required 1 hour to cook to deliciousness

  7. I have a huge batch in the slow cooker at the moment & the smell is fantastic. Planning to have them on porridge for breakfasts for the rest of the week

I made this tonight for son’s birthday and it was scrummy! I added some brown sugar (about 1/2 a cup), extra teaspoon of cinnamon and a good dash of Stone’s Green Ginger Wine (1/4 cup approx.) and about 2 tablespoons of maple syrup…..the pears were soft but still crunchy. Thanks for sharing this recipe Paulene. Going to make it again! The addition of the Green Ginger Wine made quite a big difference…gave it just a subtle hint of ginger. Served it with vanilla icecream. Empty dessert plates all around!

Ever so easy. To make with loads of deliciousness
I only had 3 pears in the house that needed using up.
I still used the other ingredients the same. Cooked in my baby 1.5 L sc on high. And only took 1 hour.
Hubby loved them too. Giving it a 10/10
    Thanks Jenny P
