      Yey!

After 3 hours on low the sauce was yummy but the meat was still chewy
(Maybe I didn’t brown the meat enough or my SC might not cook as hot as others). I kept it on low for another couple of hours and it was INCREDIBLE!!! Delicious sauce and the meat was falling apart. I will definitely be making this recipe again.

Delicious recipe was still a little watery at the end added some cornflour but still a bit funny although the sauce went through the rice so it worked out well

Can we use normal soy sauce? Does it change taste too much? What can I add with?

    1. Paulene @ Slow Cooker Central

Regular soy sauce is not the same. Sweet sauce is far less salty and is a thicker sweet sauce 🙂

Do you recommended using something else if not using the garlic. Allergies to garlic.

If you cannot use it I would leave it out.

    So easy and delicious!
i added some julienne carrots cos I like to add extra veggies for the kids where i can.

I made a very similar recipe a few weeks back, but instead of the sweet soy sauce (I didn’t have any), I added some sweet chilli sauce and brown sugar. It was terrific!

Loved this recipe too. Same as Jess above, I find my beef is abit chewy and that cooking it longer doesn’t always help. Any suggestions would be great! Thanku ?

    1. Paulene @ Slow Cooker Central

I’d suggest longer cooking times for your cooker as Jess found that perfect
Or thinner slices of your beef to start with 🙂

Delicious!! Added brocolli with half hour to go, so good. Will definitely be making it again ????

I tried this for the first time and stuck to the recipe. I liked it and found it very easy to make, but next time will use a different cut of beef (I used gravy beef) and also tweak it to my tastes. Maybe some soy sauce too, and/or sweet chilli sauce (which works really well with the kecap manis in the sweet soy chicken recipe). Thanks for the recipe Paulene.

Absolutely scrumptious recipe! Only adjustments were I used blade beef, added 2 diced carrots and upped the garlic to 1.5TBS of crushed garlic to the beef when browning. Highly recommend you try this recipe too! Thanks for this keeper Paulene Christie 😉

This dish was sooooo nice. I ended up adding some broccoli as well. No more Chinese take out again EVER for me, not with these great recipes. My special needs adult son (who can’t even talk) loved it, he fed himself which is very rare. Thanks again Paulene for another great one. . ?

Do you need to cook the meat and onions first or can you put straight in SC.Also do you have to thicken it at the end ?
    TIA. ?

    1. Paulene @ Slow Cooker Central

You can skip the browning if you choose to. The flour at the start should thicken the end result already 🙂

Do you use high or low heat?

    1. Paulene @ Slow Cooker Central

Low as the recipe states 🙂

Oh my. Yes in every way. Just added a little chilli flakes and pepper to our liking. Shame there is enough for left overs tomorrow!

Really good. I accidentally bought diced steak so I cut the pieces a bit thinner. I definitely think it’d work better with really thin steaks cut up so I’ll do that next time. Flavour was great. Served with rice and green vegies.

Mmmm it was ok I added carrot and greens

Delicious…hubby was very impressed. I only had 700g of meat but still used the same amount with the other ingredients. I added broccoli toward the end. Served with brown rice which wasn’t as good but I tend to fail with cooking rice no matter how I do it.

Thanks for your great feedback Robyn 🙂

Yum yum, I love this recipe.
I used beef casserole, it was nice and tender.
At the end I thickened with cornflour making a slurry with existing sauce. A hour before end time I added sliced capsicum. Also I put handful frozen beans in freezer bag to heat through !

Thanks for your feedback Kerry! 🙂 🙂

Made this tonight…I steamed some broccoli, carrot sticks and sliced green beans and added just before serving so that they retained their fresh look, was extremely happy with it although I left the garlic out (not a fan) and found it lacking because of that…..I have leftovers so was thinking tomorrow I might add some more Kecap Manis and some chilli flakes, might jazz it up a bit …..all in all a great easy meal !
