Total Time 3 hours 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 6 sausages
  • 1 tbs butter
  • Gravy to serve
  • Others are only if crumbing yourself.
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • egg x 2
  • Dash of milk
  • 1/2 Cup Flour

Instructions

  • Crumb preparation.
  • Place flour in a bowl, do the same with your bread crumbs in a separate bowl. Then crack your eggs into a 3rd bowl add milk and mix till combined.
  • Crumbing method.
  • Peel sausages, then roll in Flour, After that place them in the egg wash mix, Then roll the sausages in bread crumbs, making sure to cover all over.
  • I like to dip in the egg wash once again and then the crumbs, to ensure a better coating and more chance of crumbs staying on.
  • Pre-heat SC on high, place butter in there. Melt. Add sausages, place a tea towel under the lid and close.
  • Cook on high for 1 1/2 hours and then turn to low for a further 1 1/2.
  • serve with a side of mash, peas and corn ? then Enjoy your yummy meal ?

Slept all day today after night shift … left a bag of sausages out for hubby to do whatever he wanted … he slow cooked these and woke me to dinner cooked ?
It’s been decades since I ate a crumbed sausage ?????
The kids couldn’t get enough and were circling the leftovers he had put aside for his work lunch tomorrow ?
    Delish!

We didn’t peal them 🙂 Though I suspect it makes for ideal crumb sticking if you do so – up to you 🙂

Was a hit with the family! I boiled the sausages for a couple of minutes to render out the excess fat and to make peeling them easier but 100% recommend the recipe. Will definitely make them again. I also added a little garlic powder to the bread crumbs just for something a little different.

I like to add powdered parmasan cheese in with the crumb adds a nice flavour

I decided to try the crumb sausages that were posted last week.

They were easy and very tasty. I used breakfast sausages from our local butcher and pricked them with a few times with a toothpick. I didn’t remove the skins and I added garlic powder to the crumbs.

I served them with mashed potato, creamy leeks and brown onion gravy.

On the bottom, I used baking paper under them myself to ensure no stick 🙂

  8. Cooked these a few weeks ago to recipe using bbq sausages and store bought Parmesan bread crumbs and they were great, cooking them again tonight but using fat sausages from my butcher.

  9. Love a good crumbed sausage! Can anyone tell me if the crumb comes out crunchy? Thanks!
