Super Easy – but also Super Tasty
We had this with roast vegies, but it would also be really lovely served in rolls.
An easy, tasty way to cook a Leg of Lamb

The meat will release a tonne of it’s own liquids during cooking Elaine 🙂

  2. I didn’t have the right spice blend so used Tuscan herbs and added a cup of white wine . Delicious!

It’s not “mushy” unless you mash it up or something? It’s just a really tender roast lamb 🙂

Thanks for this recipe Jenny, it is now the only one I use for my lamb legs, just so easy! Always turns out perfect and we love it!

I’d still do at least 6hrs on low for a tender result

Very easy, tender and delicious recipe. Only way I will be cooking roast lamb from now on.

  7. I am wanting to give this one a go. I would like to do sweet potato, plain potato and pumpkin. Do I put them all in with the meat at the same time? If so…on top or underneath?

    1. Paulene @ Slow Cooker Central December 12, 2017

Yes you can add them at the start too
Around the base of the meat is fine
Remember they will be soft like result as they sit in the juices but some like to then crisp them in the oven 🙂
Alternatively you can add them on top in foil parcels to keep them dryer or even beside your roast in an oven bag

Have done 2 roast lambs now, first time i used whole potatoes, carrots cut in half, and some pumkin as a bed, then laid the roast on top of them, added 500ml veg stock, smothered the roast in rosemary and lamb herbs was perfect! Second time done the same but didnt use veg & used less liquid. Melt in your mouth ??

  9. So yummy, and easy!
My roast was so big it only just fit in! Cooked for 9.5 hours on low, would have loved another half hour but we were starving! I also added potatoes wrapped in foil around the roast, which I crisped in the oven for 20 minutes before serving to crisp them up. Will defiantly do again!

Just placed my seasoned 1.6 kg leg of lamb in SC on low, do you suggest time frame of approx 7/8 hrs. First time doing this in SC, looking for a good result. ???

I have tried this last Sunday and it was tasty. i do not have lamb herbs, so I use rosemary, oregano and basil instead, added some salt and pepper and garlic powder too. It still turns out alright that even my 3 year old son who doesn’t eat lamb ate it. Partnered it with roast potato and onion and it was just amazing. i will definitely do it again. Thank you for the recipe. By the way, I got lamb herbs already to make sure i have it next time.

No you don’t need to Holly, but you could add some if you preferred or let others add it at the table instead 🙂

So easy but ever so tasty and tender. Used fresh rosemary and garlic and dried herbs for the rest. Forgot the mint but served with mint jelly. This is my go to for Roast Lamb definitely. ?

This was delicious, I often find it hard to get the family to eat lamb but they absolutely loved this. My husband even asked why the lamb tastes so much more flavoursome. Thanks for the brilliant recipe. It will be one of my go to favourites.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your feedback Naomi – you’re awesome for doing so!

The lamb herbs mix as per bottle is : Rosemary 59%, Garlic, Marjoram, Thyme, Oregano, Mint 5%, Basil. So if I replaced it I’d focus on basically just the Rosemary and Mint.
