
Creamy Garlic Baby Potatoes
Tender baby potatoes in our famous creamy garlic sauce!
Equipment
- 3.5L slow cooker
Ingredients
- 100 grams salted butter
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp plain flour
- 1 cup cooking cream – see notes
- 1/2 cup Chicken stock
- 1/2 tsp mustard powder – I only use Keens
- 1/2 tsp Cracked black pepper
- 500 grams washed baby potatoes, skin on, cut into halves
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh curly leaf parsley
Instructions
- Heat butter and garlic on high until butter is melted. (approx. 5-10mins)
- Stir in flour.
- Slowly add stock and cream while stirring. Add mustard and pepper and stir to combine.
- Add potatoes and parsley
- Cook on HIGH for 3hrs with The Tea Towel Trick.
NOTES
- Cooking cream is available in cold or shelf packs in supermarkets. It resists splitting when heated. If you must use regular cream in this recipe then add a tsp of corn flour to it first before you add it to help lesson the risk of that splitting.More info on that HERE
- At the end of cooking you may find some excess butter risen to top of dish – this can be removed prior to serving. Or, remove potatoes to serving plate, whisk back into sauce and pour over. I found this recipe happily sat on ‘keep warm’ setting for 2hrs after cooking and this settled any butter to the bottom of the cooker that was then easily left behind when plating potatoes 🙂

Had this as a side dish with Lasagne, the potato was sooooo good!!
Me being me I used about 3/4 of a jar of minced Garlic instead of cloves and it was delicious, the fam have asked me to come home early from work tomorrow to make them again 😋😋
