Diced beef in Rich Rosemary and Garlic Gravy

A tasty beef in a rich herb and garlic gravy. Perfect served with creamy mashed potato, carrots and corn cobs. You might like to include some crusty bread or soft white dinner rolls to get every last drop of the gravy off your plates too – it’s that yummy!

Well, this recipe is a keeper. Absolutely delicious and so easy to throw together and let do its thing during the day while you get on with life.
I made it exactly how the recipe stated., except I ran out of tomato paste, so topped it up with some tomato Gausundi paste/chutney.
I used the cooked mix as a filling for pies. Yummo !
Do yourself a flavour and definitely try this great recipe 🙂

  2. Absolutely delicious! Wonderfully easy meal to prep, had it with mash potatoe and mixed vege. Will definitely be dishing up this again. ?

This was a hit tonight, was a bit concerned in how the meat cooked. The only thing I changed as I added in the onion at the end with the gravy and next time I will be adding the gravy in, in the last 30 mins of cooking rather then at then end

  6. Easy to make and very enjoyable. Served this up with mash and mint peas. Leftovers will be going into a pie.

Made this tonight using beef cheeks as that all I could find at the supermarket. Cooked for 6 hours on auto, before moving to high for the last 30 mins when adding the gravy powder. Best meal I’ve made in the slow cooker, will be making this again and again

  8. When making this beef dish aren’t there any liquids added at start of cook?

    1. Paulene @ Slow Cooker Central May 22, 2023

      Hi Karen,
No it makes heaps of it’s own liquids as it cooks 🙂

Delicious,. Diced roast beef with gravy. Served on a bed of cauliflower and sweet potato mash with a side of frozen mixed vegies and broccoli.
A real winter warmer. Will cook when visiting England in December.

Slow cooked this yet again tonight, OH said it was delicious. Love having a stash in the freezer for those nights I don’t want to cook – it freezes & reheats beautifully.

100% DELICIOUS. The whole family loved it, even the 4yr old loved it. Will definitely be making it again. Can be served with anything.
I used the Coles Beef Chuck Casserole Steaks and roughly chopped into chunks, i also cooked it a little longer then the post probably about 6-7hrs on low.

This beef dish is really yummy. I served it with mashed potatoes and veggies. It was very much enjoyed. Next time I’ll have to bake mini bread rolls to soak up the gravy!

Will I be able to cook this in the little slow cooker? Probably the 1.5ltr I think I would need to halve the recipe is this correct?

    1. Paulene @ Slow Cooker Central September 8, 2025

While it might JUST fit in the 1.5L it would be better to probably reduce it somewhat to be safe. Even 3/4 would probably be ok 🙂

Loved the gravy, meat was a bit undercooked after 5 hours on low so popped it on again for another half hour on high.
served with mashed potato and pumpkin, broccoli and carrots.
Enough left over to have in a sandwich for lunch tomorrow.

Amazing. There are no words to say how good this is. I read the reviews and saw that people put leftovers in pies. While I think that would be delicious, I can’t understand how people have leftovers. Next time I will thrown some vegetables in and add some more gravy. The whole family loved it!
