Mix curry powder with water
Add all ingredients to slow cooker and stir thoroughly
Cook on high for 3 hours then turn to low
Cook time approx 5 hours or until meat is tender
Notes:
Sultanas can be omitted
Any chutney can be used, but a fruit chutney was used in this dish
There is no definite taste of banana in this dish, the banana is simply used as a sweetener
Add or reduce curry powder to suit individual personal taste
Serve with boiled rice, yoghurt and Poppadoms
It can be cooked with beef, chicken, lamb or sausages.
If using sausages, sear the meat first, chop into 1" lengths before adding to the slow cooker
This hearty winter recipe has been passed down from Mother to daughter, to granddaughter and has been a great family favourite over the years :)
