Ingredients

  • 2 onions chopped
  • Salt and pepper
  • 6 tablespoons rice
  • 2 carrot chopped
  • 4 celery sticks chopped
  • ½ cabbage sliced thinly
  • 1 ½ teaspoons curry powder
  • 4 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 2 x packets dry chicken noodle soup OR plain dry noodles and 2 tsp chicken stock
  • 3 cups boiling water ( you may need more or less depending on how hot your cooker runs)
  • 1 packet/bag fresh bean sprouts (in pre-packaged area in bag at supermarket etc) washed

Instructions

  • I brown my mince, you don’t have to, it’s personal preference
  • BROWNING MINCE METHOD
  • Brown meat, onion and salt and pepper. Add rice, carrot, celery, cabbage and ¾ teaspoon curry powder and soy sauce. Add chicken noodle soup, then add 3 cups boiling water, mix well.
  • **Please note: More or less water maybe needed. It depends on how hot your cooker runs. If required add more water, or take lid off to evaporate any excess fluid. Once you work out how much is needed you will know for next time!
  • Transfer to Slow cooker. Cook for 6-8 hours on low or 3-4 hours on high. Times depend on your Slow Cooker and may vary so keep an eye on it for your fist time and adjust as required.
  • Scatter bean sprouts on top when there is 1 hour to go when cooking on high, or 2 hours to go when cooking on low.
  • NON BROWNING MINCE METHOD
  • Add everything except bean sprouts to slow cooker, mix well to combine.
