Grease a 5.5 litre slow cooker bowl.
Cover base of cooker with a layer of potato. Follow with a layer of sweet potato, then about a third of the onion. Repeat layers of potatoes, sweet potato and onion, finishing with potato.
Combine cream, pepper, garlic, parsley and 1/2 tsp smoked paprika.
Pour over the potatoes.
Cover with a tea towel under the lid.
Cook Low 3-4 hours, til potato is soft.
Combine remaining paprika with the cheese and sprinkle over potato mix.
Cook a further 30 minutes on Low still with tea towel in place.
Serve with extra chopped parsley to garnish.
