I’d really love to win the 6.5L slow cooker for my family of 4. I always brown my meat before slow cooking and I find I don’t use my slow cooker enough because it’s too much of a pain getting out my frypan to brown everything first. As my house is on tank water this would save us water by using just the special searing slow cooker insert to brown my meat and not having to wash a frypan. After reading both reviews I can see these Westinghouse slow cookers are a great price as well.If I don’t win one I’m going to go and buy my own. They arecjustcwhat I need.

She lives in rural SA and drives her friends 3 hours (one way) to the nearest major city whenever they need it. She’s also the principal carer for my Nanna. She never asks for anything in return and very rarely gets anything for herself, so I’d love to win this for her.

  88. Josephine Dawe says:

I would love to win a 6.5 l Westinghouse Slow Cooker! I have been an avid follower of Slow Cooker Central for quite some time now. I have learnt a lot from this group and Pauline.
I love to batch cook for my family and will quite often double recipes so I am able to freeze single serves so they can be used for lunches or freezer night dinners on busy nights. I do find that browning or searing sometimes provides a flavour that is more preferred by my family so would absolutely love to have that option on my slow cooker. Currently I have to do this using a frying pan on the stove top and then transfer it to the slow cooker bowl. The 6.5l model would make this task so much easier and be much more convenient for me. I would love to win either. My husband and I have a lot of dinners seperate from our 3 small boys so the small one would be great for that and the large one when I am making dinner for everyone.

  223. I would love either, its coming to the time when myself and our aged care residents start our cooking activities and this would be great.

  224. Nakeeta says:

I would love to win the 6.5lt as I have 6 kids on the go every day so chucking something in the slow cooker in the mornings would be ideal!

  225. Claire Brooks says:

I would love to win the 3.5L slow cooker. I have wanted a small slow cooker for ages. I love my 6L one but do find its a bit big for most things I want to cook. It would be awesome to have another option. And it looks so sleek!!

  226. Hi I’m Liz from NSW. I would love the 6.5litre slow cooker. I love to get organised and do big cook ups, but my favourite dinner in the slow cooker is a leg of lamb. How simple in a searing slow cooker!

  227. Bernadette Mitchell says:

I would love to win the 6.5ltr for my family of 7 + 4 grandchildren. I would only need to use one for the main meal.

  228. Susann Cheung says:

    Susann Cheung, NSW

I would appreciate an oval 6.5L. I only have a round 3L or 3.5L (not sure exactly as I dug around in my cupboard for it after finding the slowcookercentral FB page).

But honestly would really love any searing slow cooker as our stove connections (for gas bottles) is currently leaking gas so we can’t safely use it.

    Thank you.

  229. I’d love the 6.5 , even though it just the hubby and I, I love to cook up big and freeze, lots of meals to give to the kids.
The Searing would be so handy for me too.

  230. Lesleigh says:

Queensland. I like the 6.5lt because I often cook and freeze leftovers for another meal the following week.

  231. Lydia Ebert says:

I would love to win the 3.5L one as our old ones lid smashed on the ground and it would be perfect for our family of three. Perfect for corned beef, apricot chicken and pulled pork!

  232. Lisa Rix says:

Decisions, decisions. Hmm which size would I like to win…the 6.5l would be good for my family of 5 but the 3.5l would be good to do just the meat in and add it to vegetables. Whatever the decision I would love to try out the searing method as I just throw all my stuff in the dinosaur slow cooker I have right now. Don’t get me wrong it has been a workhorse for many years but a sparkly new one with all the bells and whistles would be AWESOME!!!!

  233. Patricia Stewart says:

3.5 litre would be wonderful for us now our children aren’t at home.
    Pat Stewart
    Warwick WA

  234. Alison Battistuzzi says:

My name is Alison I live in country NSW
I would love to win either size
Why?? Because I often don’t bother browning/searing meats before slowcooking purely because I have to dirty two dishes
My idea of slowcooking is throw it all in one dish & save on washing up…..LOL

  235. Would love to win the 6.5lt! I have a growing family who love eating slow cooker meals.
A specialty i have been making is pea & ham soup and last time I made it I use a large ham bone & need to saw it in half to fit in my slow cooker!! 😂

    From NSW

  236. Donna Germon says:

Donna Germon, NSW. I’d love to win the 6 5L searing slow cooker. It would be the perfect option to cook meals for my busy family of 7. The kiddos train at different sports every night so this would help me get more organised!

  237. Marie Farrell – Brisbane QLD
I would love to win the 6.5L Westinghouse slow cooker as it would make cooking up batches of healthy dinners for my 92 year ol Mum & 89 year old Uncle much easier. I’ve never owned a self searing slow cooker 😊

  238. Chris Harris says:

The Westinghouse 3.5L would be ideal for us “empty-nesters” as my trusty old 20+ year old George Foreman has seen better days, and I find that using the frypan to brown meats just takes up extra time, space and washing up. So with the searing feature, would be a real time saver.

  239. Amy Northcott says:

    Amy from WA
I’d love to win the 6.5l, as a family of 4 I would love to be able to slow cook healthy meals to spend more time with my kids

  240. Lynnette bull says:

    I’d love the 6.5L .
We all know that slow cookers save us time, we throw in all the food, turn it on, walk away but the larger size means I can also make larger meals and freeze portions for meals later on. So I’m actually saving even more time. Nothing to me sounds better than saving time and better using that time to tend the garden patch and play with the kids.

  241. I would love either one! I love the nonstick sear pot which means I’d sear and slow cook with the one pot, saving so much time and mess. Westinghouse is a great brand so I know these slow cookers would be a great addition to any kitchen.

  242. Pamela says:

Thanks for the chance love either one . I am from Victoria

  243. Lynnette bull says:

  246. Tanya Geisel says:

My mum who is in her seventies has lost interest in cooking for the last 18 months now. I have been telling her of my new love in slow cooking for the last 6 months and she seems interested in my endeavours as I have been bringing over to her my leftovers. I have bought her your book 1 as a birthday present and my sons 5 l slow cooker since he has moved back in with us ( back to uni again, he only ever cooked in his slow cooker when he was flating and he actually got me interested in slow cooker cooking, my, some of his meals were fine!😁) so I would love to give her for her birthday as well as your book a 3l slow cooker which size would be much more appropriate for her! 💕

  250. Rachel Purvis says:

Hi, my name is Rachel Purvis and I live in Queensland. I would love to win one of the Westinghouse 6.5L Searing slow cookers. I’ve always thought the searing function would be handy and I like the review idea of finishing the meal off on the stove if you’re short on time or need to thicken the liquid. The larger 6.5L size cooker would be great for the big meals needed after a long day mustering. My fingers are crossed.

Hi, I’m Christina Goodman from Mount Taylor, close to the beautiful Gippsland Lakes part of Victoria. I would love the 6.5L slow cooker, as I have a large family and I am always slow cooking meals that will spread to feed us all.

  255. Tamara McCann says:

I would be happy with either though the 6.5l would be fantastic as I like to cook in bulk, due to long work hours and after school activities and therapies, cooking dinner from scratch every night is not really an option so love slow cooking and having a healthy meal ready to go when we get home.

  256. Lauren Cuma says:

I would love to win either but the 6lt would be amazing to replace mine that just died.
The searing feature would save me so much time and extra dishes. I love that it has 3 settings instead of being like my old one with 2. The design is awesome too! I love appliances that are a bit quirky, it will suit my kitchen perfectly 🙂
    Lauren from South Australia

  257. Stephanie Lefevre says:

6.5L Westinghouse searing slow cooker would be amazing. With the amount of food I have to cook. My cooker may not be overflowing almost all the time. And to not have to use more then one pot would be amazing.. for this time poor person..

  258. Judith bales says:

Would love to win the 3.5 litre as I would love to be able to spend more time with my 4yr old boy and 2 yr old girl and this is the perfect size for me to do meals as well as daycare lunches and snacks.

I would love the chance to win the 3.5L. Myself and my 3 year old daughter left a DV situation with my ex husband 2 years ago and have been living with my parents since ( which I am soo grateful for). We are finally able to move into a place of our own in two weeks ( Yay!) and are literally starting from scratch beside a bed. The 6.5L Slow Cooker would be fantastic for when my adult sons and partners come to visit. a larger slow cooker would give us more time to spend with the family AND once again the searing option would be a dream come true, meaning less pots to clean and more delicious roasts, curries, casseroles and gluten free slow cooker meals and desserts to create, not to mention yummy left overs for work during the
week or when hubby is on the road.

  266. Leanne Harris says:

I would be grateful for a 3.5Ltr to actually see how a good brand Cooker works properly. One I currently have takes forever to cook in (even on high) so really hard to gauge when the meal will be ready. Hubby would love it to make his baked beans recipe in.

  330. Katherine Carr says:

The 6.5L would be a total winner in my house. With 7 people to feed my slow cooker gets slammed and it could certainly do with having a helping hand.

    Katherine, from Queensland

  331. Shalaye Testaz says:

The 6.5L slow cooker is right up my alley! I love making up big meals to feed my family of 5 that night and make up lunches for the next day or so aswell. It’s a great way to ensure everyone eats something healthy and substantial for lunch instead of grabbing something full of bad things and costs something stupid! I have also somehow snapped the dial knob off my current slow cooker (which no longer works On low setting either) and am using a pair of pliers to turn it on :/ Probably not to safe, so I’m definitely in need of a new one :p
    Shalaye Testaz Tasmania

  332. Rebecca Scalley says:

Rebecca Scalley from Newcastle NSW. I would love the 6.5 L slow cooker, not only for the searing capabilities, but for its size and shape- it could fit those nice big roasts that I can never squeeze into my current slow cooker. I’d love to cook a leg of lamb for my family, and with the size of the 6.5L I could!

  333. Tracey Bice says:

    Hi my name is Tracey
    My state is QLD

I would love to win the 6.5L slow cooker. With a family of 6 to cook for this little gem would come in really handy. I also love to cook up meals for work in big batches to freeze, it saves time when life gets in the way 🙂

  337. Tracey Thorpe says:

The 3.5l would be fabulous for hubby and I. Now that the family has flown the coup, we need a smaller cooker but still the convenience of slow cooking as we are both shift workers. Not to mention, I’ve always wanted a searing model 😍
    Tracey – Toowoomba

  338. Marg Marshall says:

This review reads so well – maybe it’s time I moved on from being a single slow cooker person! I’ve only ever bought new appliances when the old one breaks. I’ve always coveted a smaller cooker!

  339. Marg Marshsll says:

“Who doesn’t love less dishes?” Absolutely!! This slow cooker looks amazing. My trusty 20yo slow cooker just won’t die 😀 so it’s very hard to justify a new one! But if I were to win one, that would be a different story! If you have an induction cook top, there are metal plates you can buy that will allow you to use otherwise unsuitable pots. Great review Paulene, thank you!

  340. Denise says:

These slow cookers look awesome. I would love the 6.5L one as I have a big family. Our get togethers are the best.

  344. Julie Argaet says:

I don’t have a slow cooket despite just about all of my friends raving about theirs. I work full time and always dread coming home after a long day only to start work again on dinner. It would be so great to have it ready when I walk in the door and not have to hear “how long til dinner is ready?” I would love to win the 6.5lt as I can have leftovers for lunches.

  345. Kylie Baker says:

    Kylie Baker – Queensland

I would love to win the Westinghouse 6.5L Searing Slow Cooker. I purchased my current little slow cooker after I married my husband and we moved into our own home. Since then (10 years ago), our family has grown into a family of 5 and my poor little slow cooker almost overflows every time I use it. My slow cooker has been, and continues to be the most used and valued small appliance in our home.

  346. Jane says:

The 3.5L Westinghouse Slow Cooker would be a delight to win. I am carer to multiple stroke survivpr hubby who accidentslly knocked and broke my old Slow Cooker. 348. Jacinta Prater says:

I would absolutely love the Westinghouse 3. 5ltr, mainly because it would be an absolutely lifesaver for parties, family gatherings, side dishes and for when there’s only two people at home, I also love the idea of being able to thicken the sauce over a stove for the final finish of the slow cooked dinner. I’ve never owned a searing slow cooker as I usually don’t have time to pre brown any meat, this 3. 5ltr searing slow cooker would turn my life around if I have one as I would like to see the difference of pre browning. It would also be amazing to do home made potato bake in the slow cooker as my partner loves it. It would be a perfect size for my family and collection.

    Jacinta Prater,

  349. Michelle Anderson says:

Would love to win the 6.5 as I love not having to restrict the size of things. My partner has always been the stay at home dad after having a liver transplant he does all the household chores except the cooking.i think this would be good for him as he is now staring to try his hand at cooking.

  357. Marisa Coles says:

I would be thrilled to win the 3.5L slow cooker – I gave my smaller slow cooker to a friend who was interested in trying slow cooking as I have a large one, but it would be great to have a small one again for those smaller jobs. I love the thought of using a slow cooker that sears as welll. I have been using my old trusty kambrook slow cooker now for over 15 years, before that , an original crock pot I found at Vinnies
I’m a working mother of 4 and usually cook for at least 6 every night, so the larger 6.5 L would be perfect
If not the smaller one would be useful too – if my kids ever leave home. But I’m so used to cooking for such a large hungry mob, I don’t know if I’ll ever adjust to cooking for just me and my husband. I know one day I’ll have too😢

    Thanks

I would love to win the 6.5 slow cooker I make lots of slow cook meals and freeze for later, also would be great because I don’t have one that sears and would save on washing up also it would look great in my kitchen and lastly for our large family birthday’s it would come in handy because of the size and the family love my slow cooked meals.

  443. Sonya Mesecke says:

Sonya S.A.. I would love a 3.5 l, perfect for my young daughter and I. We only have a second hand one. To be able to sear…. Less dishes yayyy.

  445. Marie Norris says:

    Hi,

I’d love to win the 6.5 litre searing slow cooker, which is so versatile. The searing function means it can be placed on a lower surface for me to be able to access and see into it without standing ( I have mobility issues).

I can also see this coming on holiday with me for our annual family reunion.

    Many thanks,

  446. Emily Glover says:

Oh yes please! I have a lamb shank recipe that I have been dying to try for our family but it won’t fit in our current slow cooker. I would love to have the 6.5 L slow cooker reviewed above to try this! (NSW, Australia)

I have been wanting a searing slow cooker for ages and with a teenaged daughter and a rapidly approaching his teens son to feed the 6.5L would be perfect!

  448. Rebecca Reed says:

I would love to win the 6.5ltr slow cooker. I struggle with the weight of traditional slow cooker so this sounds like and amazing cooker for me.

I would love to win the 6.5L Slow cooker to start cooking up bulk meals for my family.

  451. Mel Malone says:

My mum brought me my first slow cooker 15 years ago. Being a busy household, slow cookers are a life saver. I’ve always found though, having to sear meat before is a pain (as it’s an extra pot). I would love to win the large cooker but realistically, either size would be awesome. To have a slow cooker that enables searing really makes it a ‘one pot dish’.

  452. Karen Burgess says:

I’d love to win the Westinghouse 3.5lt slow cooker as it would be the perfect size when cooking for three. The searing function would also be fantastic to have.

Wow. The sear option alone is a miracle in the kitchen…. and my fairies that magically do all the cleaning whilst I get my beaty sleep are going to love one less pot to wash. 😍

I would love to win the 3.5 litre would be great size for the two of us at home or travelling in the caravan with limited space. Thanks

  456. Kimberley Medley says:

Jesus they are both beautiful, I would like to go into the draw for either as they’d both be amazing! I think my 6 litre slow cooker doesn’t heat correctly and a small one would be amazing for desserts to be cooked at the same time as dinner in my big one 😊
    Thanks,

I’d love to win the 3.5 l. Slow cooker. I live on my own so only cook for myself and the smaller cooker is a great size for me. I love the fact it sears the food and I could make some yummy stews in it

I would love the 3.5L so I can experiment with more meals. My husband and I take our boys football training and games 5 x a week which is a two hour round trip on top of the training so a nice home cooked meal would be great for the cold winter months!

  459. Robyn McIntosh says:

They read as very good machines as me and hubby ate home alone the 3.5 ltr would be good to win.

Would love the 3.5ltr as I have a large one and now there is only 3 of us, with sometimes only 1 or 2 of us eating at home. It would be awesome to have one with the searing function, so I can do more “one pot” meals.

  462. Terri Davis says:

Sounds like this little beauty has great functionality and is the right size for my little family of 2 now that the family have left home and my family sized slow cooker is way too big.

  463. Kerry Walls says:

I would really like to try the 3.5L as with 2 of us now left at home my big 6L is BIG! thanks for the chance.

  464. Eva Croft says:

I love my slow cooker meals and freeze quite a few meals when I cook. I find the insert very heavy to manage due to shoulder problems. I wish for a new cooker with a lighter insert!!! 🙂

  465. Lorraine Barber says:

I would so love the 3.5 Slow cooker. Perfect size for hubby and myself also for storage problems in Caravan 😍

  466. Carol Wallace says:

They both sound great. I do a lot of slow cooking but usually do not sear due to the added mess. The searing feature will allow me to add extra flavour to my slow cooker meals as I will be able to sear the meat in the one pot.
I would love the 6.5 litre as I have a family with large appetites and varying schedules. Being able to keep the dinner warm will be great for the varying dinner times.
    I live in South Australia.

I’d love to win the 3.5lts slow cooker for my sister so she can learn how to cook and start making delicious meals for me for a change.

  471. Carol Bamborough says:

I’d love to have the searing option combined in a slow cooker. I can almost smell those lamb shanks sizzling in the same pot which will then be slooooow cooked to perfection. 6.5L please, so I can fit more shanks into 🙂
    Thank You

  472. Michelle Clarke says:

6.5 litre please as I have big people in my house lol no one hubby , 18, 16 and 14 that are all growing

  475. Tracy Dempsey says:

I have multiple cookers, including the Sunbeam Secret Chef searing cooker. The 3.5L would be a great addition to my collection as I am single and find the larger cookers make way too much and I have to eat for days or freeze. A smaller sear cooker would be great!

I would absolutely love to win the 6.5L Slow Cooker.
We have a big family and also care for children in need. We never know how busy we are going to be from one day to the next! How cool to put tea on in the morning and just serve it at night 😍

  479. Hannah straw says:

I’ve only ever had the one slow cooker for 10years. It’s my old faithful and I’d feel bad for cheating on it but it’s just not cutting it for my growing family. I’d adore a 6.5l in fact id think I’d wet my pants if I won. I love cooking and exploring new recipes in my slow cooker, and it’s a life saver for easy set and forget dinners with my newborn. Honestly is their anything bad about them.?!I’d love to be able to do bigger cuts of meat so it lasts more than one night.😂

  480. Wendy Hoffman says:

I would love to win the 6.5 l slow cooker. I have a smaller one but my husband often brings home different types of game meats – venison, duck, goat, roo and rabbit . I’ve found some amazing sc recipes but my current pot is just too small sometimes. Good luck to all who’ve entered. Wendy Hoffman QLD

  481. Amanda says:

I’d love the 3.5 litre. There is only my daughter and myself at home now, so anything larger would be a waste for us. The ability to sear meat and lock in flavour in the one unit is a real bonus because I hate washing up!

  482. The 3.5 litre would be a much needed addition to our kitchen. We don’t have a slow cooker and I would love to see why everyone loves them.
