Vegetarian Cabbage Rolls

Cabbage leave rolls with vegetarian filling in a sweet and sour sauce 🙂

Ingredients
 

  • 1 small cabbage boiled (core removed before cooking - see below)
  • 1 1/2 cups rice cooked
  • 1 can lentils - rinsed
  • Diced 1 cup mushrooms
  • Diced fried 1/2 onion
  • 1 x 400g can tomatoes
  • 2 teaspoons garlic
  • Chilli to taste
  • 1 x jar of sweet and sour sauce

Instructions
 

  • Take the whole cabbage, cut the core out, and boil the whole cabbage till soft
  • Let cool and remove each leaf one at a time
  • Line slow cooker bowl with baking paper
  • Mix all other ingredients except sweet and sour sauce to make the filling of the rolls
  • Add 1 to 2 tablespoon of mixture to each leave, roll up and add to slow cooker bowl
  • Pour sauce over cabbage rolls and cook on low for 8 hours

  1. easier if you use wombok just a quick blanche refresh in ice water and roll. All so very yum with pork or chicken mince, leave out the rice and its gluten/carb free dumplings
