These decadent triple choc mug cakes are the bomb! Gooey choc hazelnut spread on the bottom topped with fluffy chocolate cake that will have you digging down deep to get every last spoonful.

  • Yields: 4 mugs

Ingredients

To make 4 mugs

2/3 cup self raising flour

1/3 cup cocoa powder

1/3 cup caster sugar

2 eggs

1/2 cup vegetable oil

1/2 cup milk

1/2 tsp vanilla essence

4 heaped Tablespoons chocolate hazelnut spread (like Nutella)

4 Tablespoons white chocolate cooking bits/buttons

Directions

1Use a nice large coffee mug so it doesn’t overflow – you don’t want to loose a drop! 😉

2Turn slow cooker on HIGH and add 1 cup of hot tap water. Replace lid and allow this to heat while you are mixing the cake mix and preparing the mugs

3Combine all cake ingredients (except the chocolate hazelnut spread and the white choc buttons) in a bowl and mix well to cake batter consistency

4Take 4 large mugs and add a heaped spoon of the choc spread into the base of each mug

5Pour the cake batter evenly between the mugs (poured gently on top of the choc spread)

6Scatter the white choc buttons on top of the batter

7Gently place mugs in slow cooker, sitting them in the shallow water you added earlier.

8Cook on HIGH with tea towel trick in place under the lid

9Cook for approx. 60-70mins or until cake springs back lightly when touched on top

10Serve with a spoon to dig down to the gooey chocolate bottom. Enjoy!

These were soooo scrum-i-licious
I served with whipped cream but I think vanilla icecream would be just divine.
