  1. Made this for my partners lunch today.
    He was impressed.
I used 1/8cup of honey to sweeten it up because my 2yo was eating it as well.

I will be adding this to the lunch menu at our house.

Thank you for this simple, yet delicious recipe.

  2. Such a simple but delicious recipe. Who would of thought of using DimSims, but I have to say THANK YOU <3
I doubled the recipe and added honey.
We served it with baby Bok Choy and Steamed Rice.
For the Dim Sims we simply used the cheap Homebrand ones from Woolworths.

  3. Made these today using plum sauce instead of the chilli and really enjoyed them.
A new snack for me to make for visitors and being able to keep them warm in the sc will be great.
    Thank You Keryn.

  4. Absolutely beautiful!
I used it as inspiration to do sweet and sour dumplings, so easy and yummy!
I have a larger slowcooker, so used 14 dim sims, 1/2 cup of sweet chilli sauce and 1/2 cup of water.
I cooked on low for 4 hours.
Thanks so much for this idea, the possibilities are endless xo

  5. Sorry but I didn’t like it, mine came out with a sticky undercooked texture that was a gluggie texture.
In saying that it was not like a steamed dim sim texture.
But everyone has different tastes pallets.

  6. Please feel free to use othe cook-in sauces such as sweet and sour if you can’t use sweet chili due to the spiciness. 🙂 some sweet chilli sauces are spicier than others and if you are cooking for small children you may need to use a less spicy sauce. Suggestions could be plum sauce, teriyaki sauce, sweet and sour sauce or even satay sauce. Enjoy!

  7. Really nice and different. Had them with sweet chilli sauce, a dollop of sour cream and chips cooked in the air fryer Will def do it again next time with Sweet and Sour sauce.

  8. So good!! Used the coles brand dim sims, whole bag went in with half cp water n half cp sweet chilli. (Would use less chilli next time as it was an Asian one n I’m not a very good half asian, too spicy!! Haha. Or a cheaper non spicy brand) Accidentally put on low for 2 hrs n then switched to high once I realised for another hour. Not sure if this made a huge difference to the result but they were amazing anyways!! Will be making again for sure. Can’t wait to make them for my mum to get her authentic asian approval!! ??

  9. I made these today and they were really good. I can’t get ready made dim sims here in Northern Ireland so I had to make them from scratch, they still tasted great xx

  10. Has anyone tried this with soy sauce ??? Maybe watered down or even with honey and soy ???? Might try it and see what it’s like !!!!

  11. Fabulous. So many variations you can use to change it up. We love Asian dumplings and these definitely hit the spot. Thanks for sharing

  12. I’m glad I didn’t find this recipe while I was pregnant or I would have looked like a dim Sims. Hubby absolutely loved them and was asking for me

I made this for dinner tonight. I used aldi dim sims and an aldi honey soy garlic stir fry sauce. I rinsed out the jar and put the water in the pot. Gave a stir then popped on low for 3 hours. Was yummo. Served with veggies. So many different ways to do this recipe and very quick. I threw it together in 2 mins as i was heading off to a staff meeting.

  14. I used 1/2 cup Soy, Honey and Garlic marinade sauce and 1/2 cup water and it was delicious. I cooked on high for an hour and 3 hours on low then served with brown rice and veggies.

  15. I made these on the weekend with Aldi dim sims and ALDI sweet and sour sauce . I cooked them for four hours on low . Me and hubby loved them. The kids wouldn’t eat them so next time I will try them with plum sauce as I think with the right sauce the kids will like them .

  16. After seeing this all over my news feed the last couple of days I decided to make this for dinner, except I used a jar of sweet and sour sauce and I couldn’t find dim sims at my local supermarket so I used frozen dumplings instead. They were yummy served with a homemade fried rice and some fresh coriander on top.

  17. Omg it’s this is just beautiful
I don’t normally eat meat dim sims only veggie ones but this has converted me ??
It’s so quick easy and full of flavour

  18. I normally dislike these cheap supermarket dimsims but gave the recipe the benefit of a doubt. I’m so glad I did!! So easy and so tasty and even my hubby who ‘hates chinese food’ enjoyed them. Dimsims will be a freezer staple for us from now on.

  19. I made this and it went like hot cakes.. I added a little brown sugar to balance the spice of chilli which also caremalised it… Love the idea… Thank you

  20. I’ve made this with sweet chilli sauce, plum sauce & kecap manis. So far the kecap manis has been our favourite. So quick and easy to do. Great for after school or sports or any time. This is going to be a regular in our household.

  21. I used 2 x kan tong sweet and sour and 1 jar water, with the entire bag of dim sims and was great!
I prefer Woolies brand dim sims to Coles ??

  22. Made this with dumplings bought from Woolworths. Mix of chicken and prawn. As hubby was having some too i doubled the amounts of dumplings and sauce/water. Delicious only 1 problem though……… i could have eaten more so next time i will use more dumplings. So easy as i had to pop out shopping and came back lunch was done. No mess so fuss.

  23. Absolutley delicious. Cant believe how easy and simple they are. And i only used homebrand Woolies ones. Bottle of sauce and a cup of water. 4hrs on low ..so addictive

  24. Absolutely delicious. I used a bag of homebrand woolies dimsums and a bottle of chilli sauce and a cup of water. On low for 4 hours. Absolutely amazing. Will add some bean sprouts and coriander to serve but definitely making again ???

  25. I enjoyed these with sweet chilli sauce. I deliberately included extra sauce, shortcut bacon cut into strips and some homegrown spring onions. Still a super easy prep. Looking forward to trying them on fried rice and also with a honey soy garlic marinade as the sauce base. These would be so easy to do in bulk as snacks for parties

  26. Such a simple & quick recipe!
Made the sweet chilli variety, added 1tbsp brown sugar as per another member suggestion. Served with sprinkle of dried chives & dollop of sour cream – Yummy ?

  27. I made them tonight with sweet & sour sauce. I wouldn’t cook them again in a slow cooker. I’ll stick to old fashioned steamed dim sims.

  28. Absolutely fantastic! Quick to prepare, simple ingredients, cheap to make & so yummo! All 6 plates in my household were empty with the kids asking for me to make it again soon (including my fussy one who won’t normally eat dim sims!). Love this recipe!!

  29. Tried these again in a honey soy garlic marinade for the first time. Wow. Really nice. I finished them in a hot oven for 15 mins and this helped with shape and crispness. Next time I will turn them in the oven and do a further 15 minutes. While the dim sims were in the oven I left the sc lid off and flicked to high which made the sauce nice and thick sauce to pour over the dim sims.

  30. I used the marathon dim sims, and cooked as per the recipe. I cooked them in the sweet chilli for flavour but used soy sauce at the end. They were delicious and tasted better than steamed!

  31. Edwina shepherd

Perfect, did these in honey soy marinade and the family came back for more. Such an easy dish to do at the end of the day. Thank you

  32. Alysha Nichols

Was very nervous making these as I’m not a huge sweet chili eater, thought I’d try them out because it looks so good and everyone talks about them! Bloody glad I did, what a hit! Absolutely delicious and nothing like what I expected ?

  33. If I was to double the amount of dumplings, do you also double the amount of the ingredients and also then double the cooking time? Sorry for the silly questions

  34. I made these last weekend and everyone loved them, today I made them with Char Sui Sauce… yum, the sauce variations will be fun to try!

  35. I made this lastnight deffinatly not a favorite dish of mine. In saying that i made this eith sweet n sour sauce for the kids and they loved it. I made the seeet chilli sauce for myself and partner and just didn’t enjoy this at all. Each to there own. I have made alot from this site and have enjoyed most meals

  36. I’m having a party soon and thinking of doing 2kg dim sims in a large. 7 lt slow cooker. How much marinade & water do you think I should add. Also approx time?
    Thank you

    1. I’m thinking at least maybe 3 times the sauce? But I’d only double the water? Maybe?
Would 2kg be about 24 dimsims would I be guessing that right?
Just be aware they don’t cook too hot in a large cooker which will be hotter so I’d give them a little extra time but really I’d be checking them around the same time as recipe states as I think it won’t vary much 🙂

  37. What an easy and delicious dish!
I cooked the dim sims from frozen (16 larges pieces) with 500mls of sweet chilli sauce with 1 cup of water. Cooked on high for about 2 and a half.

    Absolute winner!

  38. Im definitely going to try this but am going to try soy and a spicy bbq sauce. I think it will.work!! Wish me luck. Have never been a fan of the cheap dim sim from woolies bit will give it a go!

A family favourite and regular meal in our home. Served with fried rice. I add a dash of mild chilli sauce as we love a bit of extra heat. But is definitely perfect as per recipe. Dim Sims are so delicious. I have done it will the small dim Sims as well and is great. Soooo simple quick and easy dish. It’s my go to dish when I really can’t be bothered to cook. ?????. 5 drooling stars from us. Haha.

  40. Amazing!!!! 1 jar sweet amd sour sauce 1 large bag dim sims in slow cooker 2 hrs no extra water……serves with homemade fried rice yuummmm

  41. I served these by themselves for lunch and everyone loved them. Will definitely be cooking these again, next time I will be cooking more

  42. 5 stars
Excellent recipe. Cooks perfect dimmies. If you don’t like spice I’d recommend serving with sour cream. Otherwise yuuuum!

    Easiest dinner ever!
I did a variation of this recipe.
I used a mixture of sweet & sour sauce & smoky bbq sauce, simply because I had the jars opened in the fridge.
    Delicious.
Served on a bed of microwaved fried rice. Too easy.

  44. I have done 24 dim sims in my 6ltr & just doubled the liquid, so 2/3 cup sweet chilli & 1 1/3 cup water. I used completely thawed dim sims & cooked on high for 2.5 hours. Perfect ?

  45. 5 stars
Made these tonight with a Honey BBQ Sauce instead of the chilli sauce, absolutely loved them even went back for seconds lol , will be cooking these again
