Spaghetti Bolognaise
Serving: 4
Ingredients
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 250g diced bacon
- 1kg beef mince
- 250ml red wine
- 2 garlic cloves crushed
- 500g diced onion
- 2 celery sticks diced
- 1 large carrot diced
- 1 (400g) tin of tomatoes
- 250ml tomato passata
- 1 beef stock cube
- 1 sprinkle of mixed herbs
- Sea salt
- Black pepper
Instructions
- 1. Warm olive oil in a large saucepan, when hot add bacon and cook for 2-3 mins. Add mince in batches and cook for 5 to 10 mins until browned spooning into Sc with a slotted spoon.
- 2. Return to pan to heat add wine and cook for 1 minute. Stirring and scraping sides constantly. Pour into Sc. Add garlic, onion, celery, carrots, tomatoes, passata, mixed herbs and stock cube and mix well
- 3. Cover slow cooker with the lid and cook on low for 8-10 hrs or until rich and thick
- 4. Serve over cooked spaghetti/pasta
