Spaghetti Bolognaise

2 Tablespoons olive oil

250g diced bacon

1kg beef mince

250ml red wine

2 garlic cloves crushed

500g diced onion

2 celery sticks diced

1 large carrot diced

1 (400g) tin of tomatoes

250ml tomato passata

1 beef stock cube

1 sprinkle of mixed herbs

Sea salt

Black pepper


11. Warm olive oil in a large saucepan, when hot add bacon and cook for 2-3 mins. Add mince in batches and cook for 5 to 10 mins until browned spooning into Sc with a slotted spoon.

22. Return to pan to heat add wine and cook for 1 minute. Stirring and scraping sides constantly. Pour into Sc. Add garlic, onion, celery, carrots, tomatoes, passata, mixed herbs and stock cube and mix well

33. Cover slow cooker with the lid and cook on low for 8-10 hrs or until rich and thick

44. Serve over cooked spaghetti/pasta
