Slow cooker yogo 5 0 5 2
  • Prep: 2 mins
  • Cook: 45 mins
  • 2 mins

    45 mins

    47 mins

  • Yields: 4

600 ml milk

3 tablespoons cornflour

3 tablespoons cocoa powder

2 Tablespoons raw sugar

1Place all ingredients into a pre heated slow cooker (I pre heated for about 5 minutes on high)

2Add a little milk to start with and mix to a smooth paste.

3Add remaining milk

4Cook on HIGH with tea towel under lid

5Stir every 5 minutes or so for about 45 minutes (I used a 6 litre slow cooker and mine took about 45 minutes to thicken).

6Once thickened (will not be thick like the fudge, but thicker than at the start - more like a white sauce type of thick) pour into moulds (or glasses)

7Chill uncovered until it is cool to eat.

8Once cooled you can cover and store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

9Makes 4 serves.

This didn’t work out for me. Took way longer than 45 mins to thicken. Then just tasted like burnt cocoa to me 😥

And if one does not like cocoa, how can one change the flavour??? Please, and thank you.

I haven’t tried that myself but I think the bowl idea should work 🙂

Could you make this in a pyrex bowl or four small ramekins then place in the slow cooker with some water (kinda like a bain marie) We only have one big cooker. Cheers

Sounds like your cooker needs longer time 🙂

I found this recipe very simple and easy to make, though I did use a whisk when stirring regularly. We felt the cocoa version was way too strong for all but one in the house so we gave the strawberry and chocolate nesquik versions too and they are a huge hit! Thanks for the recipe, it will be a fantastic snack for the whole family during the warmer months of the year… Who am I kidding, if you love Togo you will love this 🙂

Going purely by volume of ingredients I would think yes 🙂

Will this work in a 1.5l?
