Slime!!
Ooey, gooey, green slime! Non toxic and fun for children of all ages to play with these holidays ? You know you want to ...
Serving: 1
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons of psyllium husk
- 1 cup cold water
- 1 cup hot tap water
- A few drops of food colouring of your choice
Instructions
- Add psyllium husk and cold water in slow cooker
- Stir through food colouring
- Add hot water
- Stir
- Cook on HIGH for 1.5hrs, stirring occasionally
- Cook with lid OFF, no tea towel
- Slime when cooked will be congealed and stretchy
- Cool before playing
Notes
- Keep slime in sealed container in fridge for approximately 1 wk (check before each use that it has no mould etc and discard if it does)
- We purchased a big bag of psyllium husk for approximately $6 so you can make buckets full of slime for next to nothing!
- Non toxic ?
- This was cooked in a 1.5L slow cooker ... a larger one would cook hotter/faster so would need times reduced

Where did u get husk at that price? I just paid $15 for 300grams ? will put my review up shortly ?
At woolworths in the health food aisle 🙂
Doubled the ingredients coz u can never have too much slime in the school holidays ?
Absolutely fantastic idea! Turned out perfect and so easy. My daughter is over the moon ?
Do easy and turned out perfect!
Must try!
Tried at first in my larger sized slower cooker and cooked at shorter duration (as suggested) and ended up slop, purposely bought the 1.5L Woolworths slow cooker and followed directions, again slop….
What’s psyllium husk? And does this really work cause I’ve tried many slime recipes on YouTube and none of them work.
Yes it works. This is my photo of the slime we made with this recipe. The husk is in the health food aisle of the supermarket 🙂
Do you think it would work in a 6L? Is it worth trying do you think?
Kate a larger one would cook hotter/faster so would need times reduced. Perhaps consider a double batch too 🙂
