Shanky Lamb Tagine
Packed full of flavour! Spices to delight your senses.
Serving: 4
Ingredients
- 1kg Lamb Shanks
- 2 Onions roughly chopped
- 2tsp Ground Coriander
- 2tsp Cumin
- 2tsp Ground Allspice
- 1tsp Minced Ginger
- 1tsp Minced Garlic
- 150g Halved Pitted Dates
- 2tbs Honey
- 1 Cup Beef Stock
- 1 x 400g tinned tomatoes
Instructions
- Lightly brown lamb shanks.
- Add onions, ground coriander, cumin, allspice, ginger, garlic, dates, honey, tomatoes and stock to slow cooker and stir to combine.
- Add browned shanks.
- Cook on low for 9 hours or high or 4 hours.
Notes
- Served with a creamy parmesan polenta.
- Sauce could be thickened with cornflour once cooked.
- Would be amazing with mashed potato/sweet potato/pumpkin.
- Add or take out spices to taste.
- Could be done with all cuts of lamb.
