  1. Followed recipe to a tee and found the meat was very dry, sauce however was delicious, any tips on making this without the meat bein dry?

  2. Well, this was yum. I added extra ingredients to this. I added bacon, 1 grated zucchini, 1 grated parsnip, 1 grated turnip, 3 grated mushrooms (only had three in the fridge), half a green capsicum diced small, half a red capsicum diced small, and 2 stalks of celery diced small. My meat was a bit tough, but I think it was either that I overcooked because my slow cooker was bubbling away even on low, or it was just the cut of meat I used (Heart Smart, which doesn’t have the fat, but my kids complain with the fat on even though it makes the meat so much more tender).

  3. YUMMO!! I add an extra half a cup of stock, and whatever vegies I have, this is my go to meal on sports nights that is always that extra busy, all the kids love it

  4. This was beautiful. We added chorizo and grated zucchini to it and Mr 8 who is usually really fussy ate some and enjoyed it. Will definitely make it a regular event in this household.

  5. I found this recipe a little bit boring ( for our family ) it is nice and lives up to It’s name, its saucy steak and pasta lol but we like a little more oomph and had to alter it before serving great base recipe though 🙂

  6. Absolutely love this! The sauce is so good and the meat incredibly tender. We add a little extra sweet chilli sauce but that’s just to our taste. Highly recommend this recipe.

  7. So delicious!!! Wanted to try this recipe for a while so I’m glad I did. Few alterations: no garlic, onion or flour (I loosly follow Fodmap diet) substituted half a courgette, green beans and glug of Worcestershire sauce. Used shin beef and didn’t pre-cook anything! I also don’t like adding thickeners at the beginning as due to work it cooks for nearly 11 hours. So I added gravy powder when I got home to thicken it up. Served with gluten free pasta and cheese! Sooooo delicious!!!! Definitely recommend for an easy, extremely cheap, meaty, slightly sweet pasta sauce with hidden veggies!!!

I made this last night and the whole family loved it. I didn’t do the whole par cook in the pan thing though. I put it all in the slow cooker together and it turned out fine.

I will definitely will be cooking this again

  9. Delicious, the meat was so tender added a bit more beef stock though during the cooking as the sauce looked thick. Will definitely make this again.

  10. I made this recipe today. Wow wow wow. This is a new favourite and will be a weekly meal. The only thing I did differently was I added a bit more garlic.

  11. I didn’t bother dicing meat. Just floured blade steak and threw everything in slow cooker without pre cooking anything and it turned out amazing. Next time will add broccoli near the end.

  12. Do you cook the pasta first? And do you have to cook the meat? I don’t like 2 step plans I just prefer to chuck everything in the slow cooker.

  13. Loved this! Even added some fresh diced garlic and some bbq. Everyone enjoyed it and it’s different to having a tomato based pasta dish. Made plenty and got my Husband’s work lunch out of it too. Will definitely make again!

  14. Absolutely delish! My Fiancé said it’s the best tradies lunch!! Although I cooked pasta separately with about 30mins left to cook and added it once finished as I wanted it more saucy, added some parmesan and it was perfect! Yummy!

  15. Came home to allllll the delicious smells. And it didn’t disappoint. Oh my goodness. Yummo. Made it precisely to the recipe and it hit the spot. Going on high rotation in this household. ?

Cooked this last night, delicious! Will definitely become a regular, I increased meat, stock and pasta to feed my tribe with leftovers for sons lunches ?

  17. I followed the recipe, I did brown the meat etc. The only addition I made was a can of tomatoes at the end. Really very tasty and even better reheated. Will definitely make this again

  18. Such a great recipe! I used rump steak as it was all that I had and added an extra carrot but otherwise made it exactly as per recipe. Will be using this on regular rotation from now on
