Ingredients

  • 1-2kg Pork
  • 1/4 cup Hoisin Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Bbq sauce
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce (salt reduced)

  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon or 4 cloves Minced Garlic
  • 1/2 cup Water

Instructions

  • Place pork in slow cooker.
  • Combine all other ingredients and pour over pork.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6hrs. If using a large roast type piece of pork increase time to 8hrs.
  • Before serving use two forks to 'pull' apart the meat and mix through the sauce.
  • If roast piece was used, remove and discard the fat layer just before pulling meat apart.
  • Great served on bread rolls with coleslaw or serve with creamy mashed potato and steamed vegetables.

Notes

  • All sauces can be salt reduced versions if you prefer

  1. Very, very nice – hubby loved it! However I had to omit a few ingredients due to hubby being intolerant to certain items (e.g. hoisin sauce and garlic). But even without these it was delicious (bet it’d be better with those ingredients included). Definitely a favourite in this household now.

  2. This turned out fantastic the Hubby loved it, and said it was the best pork dish ever. We had it on wraps with salad.

  3. An instant favourite. I had master 4 pour all the sauces in. Hes already requested it for his birthday dinner 🙂

  4. Just wondering if this recipe would be too salty using ordinary soy sauce. I don’t have low salt and want to make today!

  5. This was tonight dinner. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING… My family licked their plates clean. Served on hamburger buns with coleslaw with a side of crackling. Have plenty of leftovers too. So I’m thinking of cooking a pie with the remainder… So excited to cooked more of your meals… Thank you

  6. Cooked beautifully, house smelled fantastic!
I left out the garlic and the sweet chilli sauce as I don’t like either flavour.
Final result was too sweet for my liking, but hubby loved it! Maybe I’ll look at using less sauces next time, but overall I would recommend!

  7. Absolutely delicious Paulene, thank you for sharing. I made pies out of it and they are the yummiest! I used normal Soy Sauce and did as you suggested to reduce salt and that was to put a raw peeled potato in the bowl and discard once cooking was finished, was not salty at all 🙂

  8. This is my fav pulled pork I use a 2kg roast and double the sauce ingredients and it works beautifully I also up it to 8hrs cooking time

  10. Made this tonight and it turned out amazing. I used a larger piece of pork shoulder so cooked on low for 8hrs

  11. We had this for dinner last night and it was absolutely delicious! I served it with wraps, coleslaw and cos lettuce, and kept the meat and sauce separate for Miss 11. As the sauce was quite runny I just poured it into a saucepan and reduced it right down. Leftovers for lunch, and will be making this again!

  12. A fave in our house. Even my sister asks when am I cooking it because she always takes a serve to help us eat it all and of course then need to make more.

  13. For a long time i put off doing pulled pork as couldn’t see the point in shredding it. Tried this and im converted. Was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be making this again.

  16. This is my all time favourite! I make it for parties and when we have large family dinners, and everyone always asks for the recipe. It’s also become a favourite of my sister who doesn’t like pork. I buy a big cut of pork and double the sauce recipe and cook for 8+ hours.

Made this today. Another winner. Absolutely delicious ? ?
I used diced pork (all I had) & shredded it at the end. I only used 3/4 of all of the sauces (personal taste).
Thickened with a cornflour slurry. Perfecto. ?

Made this for dinner tonight and was so nice. Had leftovers for the boys which they took for lunch the next day. I used ordinary soy sauce and definitely was not salty. We served it with peas and chipped potatoes. Very nice. Hubby even tried a small piece as he doesnt like pork and reckons it didnt even taste like pork.
