Ingredients

  • 1kg chicken drumsticks
  • A small tin tomato paste (140g)
  • A generous shake of Moroccan seasoning
  • 2Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1Tbsp gravy powder
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • A good grind of cracked pepper
  • 2Tbsp BBQ sauce

Instructions

  • Add chicken drumsticks to slow cooker
  • Combine all other ingredients and pour over chicken
  • Cook on low for 6hrs

Notes

  • As chicken releases it's liquids it will combine with the other ingredients to make a lovely rich sauce over the chicken.
  • This sauce can be further thickened just prior to serving if needed, however ours didn't require this
  • Lovely served over creamy mashed potato

  1. I cannot even explain how delicious and easy this recipe is. Perfect with mash.

I wasn’t able to find a small tin of tomato paste so ended up using 1/4 can of tomato puree and it worked well. If I’d used less then it may have been a thicker gravy but it worked just fine.

  2. I doubled the sauce and i used ground pepper and it was very delish and the chicken was nice and tender and the smell was incredible

  3. Yummy! Will make again. Next time I’ll double the sauce- my 1 year old kept licking his plate clean and asking for more!

  4. Was delicious and I doubled the sauce
We loved the sauce so much I used just the sauce in other recipes like lamb shanks?

I really liked this, I made my own morrocan seasoning and probably could have been a bit more heavy handed with it. I am definitely making this again. I served it with mash and broccoli.

Quite a nice flavoured recipe. Next time I might use a little less tomato paste as the final result was a little too concentrated for my taste.
Otherwise a very nice recipe that I will make again.
