Preserved Mandarin Peel in Syrup
Great to add to desserts cakes or over ice-cream.
This recipe can be made using other citrus.
Serving: 1.5
Ingredients
- 2 cups Water
- 2 cups Sugar
- 2 Sumo Mandarins
Instructions
- For syrup - Add water and sugar in a pot and dissolve sugar. Liquid should be clear and slightly thick.
- Peel mandarins and remove white pith as much as possible.
- Slice thinly and place into the 1.5 litre slow cooker.
- Pour syrup over sliced peel.
- Turn on slow cooker to low and let it cook for around 5 hours.
- Pour/spoon into sterilized jars put lid on while still hot and let cool.
