1-2kg Roast Beef - the kind you buy ready marinated in the bag from the butcher eg in Onion, Garlic and Red Wine

4 medium potatoes, washed with skin on

4 Carrots, pealed and ends trimmed

2 pealed onions, left whole


1Lay potatoes, carrots and onions in base of slow cooker and place marinated meat on top

2Cook on low for 6-8 hours

3Serve with peas and corn on the cob and gravy made out of the juices from the meat


1You could use any flavour of marinated roast beef that you love from your butcher

It will shrink during cooking yes but you can still do this recipe with the piece you have 🙂

Hi, I only have a 1.2 kg pre-marinated roast will it shrink very much?

That’s correct Anna. By the end of cooking the meat will have released around an inch of liquids of it’s own and you don’t want it stewing in liquid 🙂
