Pörklöt Hungarian Stew
Serving: 4
Ingredients
- 1kg chicken legs (see notes)
- 4 large onions, diced
- 4 large tomato, chopped
- 3 different colours of capsicums
- Bunch of spring onions, white and some of the green part
- 3 good tablespoons of tomato paste
- 3 teaspoons of paprika
- 4-5 garlic cloves, crushed
- Salt and pepper to season
Instructions
- Add chicken to slow cooker
- Fry the onions, tomatoes, spring onions and capsicum briefly
- Add paprika, tomato paste, garlic, and Salt and pepper to vegetables then add all this to your slow cooker
- Cook on high for 4 hrs
- Enjoy with pasta
Notes
- The chicken could be swapped for a kilo of diced beef, veal or lamb. Though these red meats will need extra cooking time
- If using one of these alternative meats also add liquid stock to level to cover the diced meat
