Pork with Braised Cabbage and Baby Potatoes
A simple pork and vegetable recipe that easy to prepare and easy to serve
Ingredients
- 1 Pork Hock, approx 1kg
- 150g Leg Ham, cut into small batons
- 150g Speck or Smoked Bacon, cut into 8 pieces
- 1/4 Green Cabbage, sliced
- 1/4 Red Cabbage, sliced
- 1 Carrot, diced
- 1 stick of Celery, diced
- 1 large eschalot , diced
- 1/2 cup Vegetable stock
- Cracked Pepper
- 8 small Potatoes
- 1/4 cup fresh chopped parsley
Instructions
- Place cabbage, carrot, celery, shallot, ham and speck in slow cooker bowl, toss to mix
- Pour stock into slow cooker bowl
- Create a hollow in cabbage and nestle pork hock into this
- Sprinkle pinch of cracked pepper over everything
- Cook on low for 6-7hrs (Contempo 5.5L sc) until pork hock is tender and starting to fall apart
- Serve with Baby Baked Potatoes and sprinkle of parsley
Notes
- My potatoes took 6-7hrs on low in the Aldi Ambiano 3L Slow Cooker
- If you don't have a second slow cooker you can steam your potatoes
