Poached Eggs

Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 30 minutes
Total Time 35 minutes

Ingredients

  • As many eggs as you need or can fit
  • Silicone egg holders or silicone cupcake cases
  • Spray oil

Instructions

  • Add approx 1-2cm of warm water to bottom of slow cooker
  • Spray each silicone case lightly with non stick oil spray - this helps them slide out easy when cooked
  • (I used a combination of silicone egg cups and silicone cupcake cases - use whatever you have)
  • Crack one egg into each cup and place carefully into the water so as not to tip them over
  • Cover with tea towel under your lid
  • Cook on high for 30mins (or less depending on how you like your eggs)
  • And you can go about doing whatever else you need to while these eggs take care of themselves- too easy!:)

  1. We tried this this morning with 8 eggs in our 7.5l crockpot on high and after 30 mins they were still uncooked and the egg whites were still clear! What have we done wrong?

  2. this could be usefull if you had few of family or freinds at one time maybe and not a rush thing to do…i’ll try it ..thanks

  3. hi, I tried the eggs and came out good, they took about 35-40 mins…will do them again .really easy…my eggs were about size 7 .my sc was a 3 litre.

  4. Very simple and easy recipe for poached eggs ? leaves me time to cook the rest of breakky on the bbq while the eggs are cooking away ? Such a great idea Paulene! Have made these plenty of times over the past two weeks and have finally nailed cooking time in the 3lt ambiano takes about 40 to 50 mins to have perfect poached eggs ?

  5. I love cooking eggs this way. So easy.
Pre heat your slow cooker first till water starts warming then place in for 30/40 mins (still depends on cooker) I found is the best way. I use Breville/ Kmart brand/ Ronson/ Original Crock Pot and Sunbeam, each one has different cooking times and heating speeds. But my Breville the Flavour Maker 7L slow cooker works the best and has been the most reliant and accurate of all my cookers.

  6. Fantastic way to cook eggs! Won’t do it any other way now! I used ramekins sprayed with oil. My cooker cooks hot so only took 30 min for very firm yolk. I will reduce cooking time next time.
