Poached Chicken Breast - perfect for sandwiches

Ingredients
 

  • 4 skinless single chicken breasts
  • 1/8 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/8 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp chicken stock powder
  • cracked black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup hot water

Instructions
 

  • Place chicken breast fillets directly into slow cooker
  • Sprinkle with powders and pepper
  • Pour over one cup of hot water
  • Cook on HIGH for 2hrs
  • Remove and dice or shred chicken to desired size
  • Can be frozen in bags for smaller serves
  • Perfect for use on sandwiches, wraps and other dishes requiring cooked chicken 🙂
  • Note: You could vary flavour easily with additional herbs and spices - I kept this one generic for use in other dishes and sandwiches

  2. Did this today so I could make fried rice tomorrow. Only did two chicken breasts and put it in my baby slow cooker and omg yum!!!I often buy a bbq chop and shred leftovers for fried rice but the poached chicken was more tender and nowhere near as dry.
