Pea And Smoked Ham Soup

A deliciously hearty, full of flavour and meaty pea, potato and smoked ham soup.

Ingredients
 

  • 1x Tray of smoked pork bones
  • 1x smoked ham hock or 500 grams of smoked chunky bacon pieces. (Or you can have both for an even meatier soup)
  • 1x 500 gram packet of green split peas
  • 1x 500 gram packet of yellow split peas
  • 2-3 large diced potatoes
  • Approximately 1 litre of water

Instructions
 

  • Rinse peas until water runs clear
  • Place peas to the bottom of the cooker
  • Place ham hock, bacon pieces, and smoked bones in the cooker
  • Throw the diced potato in with the other ingredients
  • Cover with water
  • Place cooked on low for 8-10 hours. All cookers vary in time. Cook to your desired consistency.
