Pea And Smoked Ham Soup
A deliciously hearty, full of flavour and meaty pea, potato and smoked ham soup.
Serving: 6
Ingredients
- 1x Tray of smoked pork bones
- 1x smoked ham hock or 500 grams of smoked chunky bacon pieces. (Or you can have both for an even meatier soup)
- 1x 500 gram packet of green split peas
- 1x 500 gram packet of yellow split peas
- 2-3 large diced potatoes
- Approximately 1 litre of water
Instructions
- Rinse peas until water runs clear
- Place peas to the bottom of the cooker
- Place ham hock, bacon pieces, and smoked bones in the cooker
- Throw the diced potato in with the other ingredients
- Cover with water
- Place cooked on low for 8-10 hours. All cookers vary in time. Cook to your desired consistency.
