Mommar's heart beef soup
A very healthy and hearty beef soup
Serving: 8
Ingredients
- 2.5 litres beef stock
- 1 kg gravy beef
- 1 onion
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- salt & pepper to taste
- 2 carrots
- 2 parsnips
- 2 potatoes
- 1 stalk celery
- 4 chillis
- 1 swede
- 1 capsicum
- 5 tsp's Gravy powder
Instructions
- Dice meat, 1cm
- Use a 6.5 l slow cooker
- Brown meat with onions and minced garlic, drain off fat
- Chop all vegetables
- Add all to slow cooker with stock
- Cook 5 hrs on low
- Check thickness and add gravy powder mixed with half a glass of the soup
- Cook another 1/2 hour checking thickness/adding more gravy powder if required
- Cook another 1/2 hour
Notes
- My former mother in law taught me this recipe and I have amended the ingredients to my taste.
- All vegies and chillis are optional.
- You can change according to your tastes.
- Beautiful with warm crusty bread.
- Freezes very well.
