  1. Super delicious! This will definitely be a regular in our house, especially because all the ingredients are actually things I usually have on hand. Made with beef strips as I had them defrosted already, will try chicken next time ?

  2. Easy, Quick, Cheap meal of deliciousness!! Full of flavour. I added green beans and snow peas 1/2 off the chicken being cooked.
This will definitely be cooked regularly in my home. Great recipe!!

  3. Made this for the first time this week. Added less ginger by accident but would add even less next time. (2 out of 3 not big ginger fans) Son has commented several times how nice it was. Hint hint. I especially like that it’s a recipe that does not include packets or jars.

  4. Had for dinner last night, was delicious, had a tiny bit of spice from the sweet chilli so if you don’t like spicy Mabey less sauce but sooooo good!

  5. Wow, what a brilliant recipe with awesome flavor – everyone loved it!!! We doubled the chicken and the sauces, wound back on the ginger and used spring onions in place of shallots. I also never use cornflour slurry’s as i don’t like how they affect taste. The outcome was brilliant and we’re already ready to do it again!!!!!!

  6. I love this recipe..it will go into my favourites for sure..I used spring onions instead of shallots. As I don’t yet possess a searing slow cooker I didn’t sear the chicken before I put it in the slow cooker…I am a bit lazy that way…I didn’t add veg as I was cooking this for the next evening’s meal…I just added the veg 1/2 cooked in the microwave before I heated it up. Great flavourful dish?

  7. Love this recipe. 11 year old fussy eater loved it huge bonus. Doubled recipe added snow peas and water crest (tin).
A new regular in this house.
    Thank you Pauline

  8. This recipe is absolutely amazing.
    Will definitely be making again
Who would’ve thought you could make this in a slow cooker.
I need to give this a 6 star rating

  9. I was not disappointed with this recipe. I double and a halved the recipe and the entire family (3 adults) loved it. Would definitely do it again.

  10. Made it last night and everyone loved it. It says ‘yields 2’ but with added veg (beans, snow peas, carrot & red capsicum – added about 15 min before it finished) and 1 and 1/2 quantities of sauces, it fed 4 people.

  11. Yum!!! I doubled everything except the sweet chilli and ginger and it was devoured by my fussy family. We’ll get 2 meals out of this for 2 adults and 2 boys aged 10 & 16. Will be on the menu again for sure.

  12. Made this for dinner tonight and was not disappointed after all the glowing reviews. Full of flavour and very tasty. Made exactly as recipe except I did not need the cornflour slurry. Will certainly be making again. Thanks for a terrific recipe Pauline.

  13. Delicious! Although hubby and son found it a little hot for their liking so will reduce the sweet chilli sauce next time!

  14. Love this recipe
I had to change a it a little. I used rice noodles instead of egg noodles and I used fountain honey/soy sauce instead of sweet soy, cause I haven’t been able to find one gluten free. All this is only due to my husband is celiac, so he can’t have any gluten at all in anything.
I also added some mixed veggies too
    Absolutely delicious!!

  15. I am disappointed….. at myself! For not reading the serving size and ripping myself off more of this delicious recipe. Can’t wait to make it again (a double batch) yum!

  16. Seriously amazing dish and I have only tried it with already cooked bbq chook!! Can’t wait to try it with raw chicken!! Flavours are amazing and even fussy 15yr old ate it

  17. Yummo. Made a couple of changes tho being over chicken.
Substituted 450g diced lamb fat removed
Added 1 cup finely chopped broccoli florets and added with the sauces
Pre scrambled 2 eggs and added with the shallots, sprouts etc
    Used only 1 tbsp ginger
Cooked all up for aprox 4 hrs on low all up
Really yummy. Hubby wants it added to regular meal rotation

  18. Instead of thin egg noodles could I add rice noodle for last 5/10 minutes as they usually only need adding to a bowl of boiling water for a couple of minutes don’t usually have to cook them

  19. great recipe My husband loves it Made it for dinner but ended up eating it for lunch -it was delicious thank you enough for 4

  20. Yummy!!!! Empty bowls all round which is a winner when it comes to 2 kids trying new dishes. I added some water chestnuts for some crunch. When I asked my husband what he thought his reply was “so when are you making that again?” Definitely going to be a regular in our house

  21. Its the best!!!! First time used cornflour to thicken but not a fan of taste so haven’t used again. No problem.

  22. I have fussy eaters and it made my 2 year old who doesn’t talk say “more” it was a winner, if I could give more than 5 stars I would

  23. Missed my slow cooker when I became a great nomad. Bought a small one at Kmart. Thought I would give this ago as it didn’t take all day to cook and was keen to try the slow cooker out. It was amazing and very tasty. Being a cook I usually don’t follow recipes much. Perfect the way it is. Would change it

Had for dinner tonight was really yummy added broccoli and bok Choi as someone else did was lovely awesome flavour definitely on our menu rotation. Son said better than bought Me Goreng thanks Pauline

  25. 100% one of the most delicious things I’ve ever slow cooked! Loved by the whole family, the only complaint is there is never any leftovers , I cook it at least once every few weeks and if I don’t my family is asking for it mmmm

  26. OMG. This was amazing! I doubled everything because we’re a family of 6, and because I was running late today I put it in the oven (sorry). Added carrots and capsicum that needed to be used. Definitely added to the rotation.

  27. We had this for the first time last night and it was really good but quite salty despite using low salt soy sauce. Is there any way to remedy this? Otherwise it was delicious. I made it the day before and refrigerated it and I don’t know if this made a difference to it. Would definitely make it again though!

  28. You know that feeling when your so full that you feel you couldn’t possibly have another spoon but the food is that good you do it anyway ? Well this meal made me so full I kept eating because the taste was just AMAZING, I didn’t want to stop tasting it ?, my 2 year old also loved it, so glad I tried this !! Definitely a new favourite

  29. Very tasty meal. I added bok choy and carrot (cut into matchsticks) when adding the noodles, and the end result was plenty for 4 serves, not 2. Next time I would add two bunches of bok choy, as we found the dish a little sauce-heavy (plus we like veg!).

  30. DELICIOUS!! My fussy eater husband had one mouth full and said oh yum this is a 9.5 out of 10. Then after his second mouthful said actually this is a 10 out of 10. It’s a definite winner in our household. Thanks Paulene you nailed it ??

  31. This dish is packed with flavour. I doubled the recipe because l had just over a kilo of chicken but the only ingredient l didnt double was the ginger because l dont like a strong ginger flavour. Highly recommend this recipe.

  32. This has so many raving reviews and I think that maybe my taste preference is a reflection of this review and maybe not the recipe itself, but this wasn’t my favourite, whilst it was very juicy and had flavour, I found it really ginger heavy and kinda watery, I didn’t hate it, and I did alter it, I doubled the recipe but not the ginger (still too much for me) and added 2 bunches of bok choy

  33. Added 1/4 cabbage and leek at the start, capsicum and snow peas at the end. Also used pre soaked rice noodles as we are gluten-free. Kids loved it too!

  34. This would have to be one of the nicest stir frys I’ve ever eaten. Leftovers heated in the microwave the next day make for a tasty easy lunch too.

  35. Um……awesome!!! This is the closest to noodlebox i’ve ever had and so easy in the slow cooker!!!! This recipe is a winner!!!!

  36. Absolutely delicious!!! Will be making this for my son and daughter-in-law next time they come over dinner. Thank you for this ?????????? recipe xx

  37. Had this tonight and it was incredible. Been wanting to make it for months and finally got around to it and it did not disappoint! My 4 year old had three bowls, will definitely be making this whenever I can!!

  38. This is absolutely delicious and filling, a go to for me since the cook time is less. I don’t add ginger because I’m not a fan, and add a smidge more kecap manis because that stuff is the bomb, and a little less sweet chilli sauce so it’s not overly spicy.

  39. Really lovely meal. Just the right amt of heat for us.
I added capsicum and carrots to it.
Might try beef strips next time…hubby isnt a huge fan of chicken but enjoyed this.

  40. This is absolutely delicious!
I was a bit worried that I wouldn’t like it but oh my goodness it is better than takeout Mee Goreng!
The only thing different I did was I didn’t use a low sodium soy sauce, and I actually added a few dashes more because it tasted like it just needed a little bit of salt.

  41. First time trying, everyone loved it. As we like heaps of veggies with all our meals I doubled the sauce and added a bag of frozen Asian veggies about 10 /15 mins before serving just to heat them through.
Definitely nice easy and delicious recipe to add to my file

  42. Loved the simplicity of this menu
Everyone ate it (& enjoyed it)
    Highly recommend this recipe
    Thanks Paulene!

  43. Yum, easy easy, could double vegies to go in it, keep adding water and you get more sauce, spreads it further.. feeds 4 good sized serves..

  44. This was so good. Flavourful cheap and easy to make. 3 generations ate this without complaints and some went back for seconds. Even tastier heated up the next day for lunch. Will definitely be adding this to the rotation.

  45. Raeleen Whiteley

Very yummy. I added julienne carrots, broccoli and capsicum.
Next time I will add a little chilli and cashews
    We got 4 serves.
    Definitely making this again.

  46. This was absolutely delicious! I added julienned carrots at the start and sliced red capsicum and mushrooms just before the end. It made enough for 4 serves. So yummy! ?

  47. Loved this ,so tasty. Hubby is not a fan of pasta, rice or noodles but he LOVED this. This was a WINNER.. So easy to make. I used chicken breast and only 1 tablespoon ginger and didn’t add shallots as I didn’t have any. Was yum..

  48. Jennifer Collier

omg loved this recipe i took out the ginger though as im not a fan of it and used seafood marinara mix and seafood highlights instead of chicken and as a seafood lover it was the bomb and had heap left over as im only a small eater soooooooo making this again

  49. tried out this recipe after seeing it the other day and trust me when I say, it did NOT disappoint!!! Was so tasty and was easy to make also with minimal ingredients but was NOT lacking in yumminess !! Will definitely be making this one again!! Even got compliments from the wife on how well it turned out!!

  50. This is the second time I’ve made this. Hubby LOVES IT And scoffs it each time. I don’t think it’s bad or anything but not one of my favs. I used full sugar sweet chilli and full salt soya sauce because that what I had in the cupboard. Then added carrot, capcicum and Brocolli. It’s a good recipe so I will rate it highly, but flavour just isn’t to my taste.

  51. Oh my gosh! I can’t believe how simple and delicious this is. Takes me back to Bali, next time I will add some chopped up omelette. I will definitely be making this again!

  52. Lisa Smallridge

Kinda misread the recipe in my haste to get it on during my lunch break and get back to work on time and just threw everything in the slow cooker at once with no pre cooking. Super tasty with a bit of a kick of something… Would definitely make this again and again, perhaps with slightly less ginger.

  53. I printed this recipe out for my son who’s recently moved out on his own for the first time. He’s not had much cooking experience so the slow cooker is perfect. He absolutely loved this recipe and how easy it is to make. It’s become one of his favourites.

  54. Loved by whole family and even though I doubled all ingredients 2 pkts of noodles were enough and did not need cornflour. Another winner ????

  55. 5 stars
Delicious! I tweaked this recipe to suit my family taste buds and on 3rd attempt I managed to get everyone to eat it so a win for me. I used chicken breast stirfry strips and I halved the ginger, I also prefer to use the instant noodles I just like the texture better. Lovely recipe it has now been added to a dinner rotation.

  56. 4 stars
Very tasty easy to cook recipe. I added green beans and capsicum not long before serving. Definitely making this again.
Would be helpful if recipes stated “low or high setting” with the cooking time.

love, love, love this. I double this and have heaps of left overs (cooking for 1) to take to work for lunches. Every time I heat it up everyone at work comments “who’s is that delicious smelling food”. think I’ve sent the link for recipe to at least 10 people.

  58. Yummo!! Will try adding some veggies next time to get more into the kids! Family of 5 and everyone ate it!!

  59. 5 stars
love this! first time cooking a meal in the slow cooker that didn’t have that generic slow cooking taste. I did add only 1 tablespoon on ginger for our tastes. it really was a great recipe and easy to make. I’m making it again right now as I’m typing this! ? definitely need a side of veggies with it. otherwise I might just eat more of it than you should lol

  60. 5 stars
Family favourite and always a hit. I always do extra because it’s so popular in my house. Sometimes I add a capsicum, snow peas or some leafy greens, depending what I have. I leave out the stock and cornflour slurry. This meal always guarantees compliments to the chef. Thank you for creating and sharing this delicious dish Paulene ?

  61. 5 stars
I made this last weekend for work lunches.
I had dry egg noodle (cooked to pkt instructions)
I didn’t have bean sprouts or spring onion
And I used store brought chook stock. And large brown onion

So wonderful and re heats and freezes well.

Today I made my own chook stock and will be
Making 2 dump bags for future use !!

DEFINITELY USE LARGE COOKER LIKE PAULENE SAYS!!
my 3L was too small after noodles were added

    5 stars
    Love love love this dish.
Full of flavour, easy meal to put together.
This dish will be on repeat.
Next time I will use 1 packet of noodles, increase the sauce also ? ? ???

  63. 5 stars
Absolutely delicious! Cooked for the first time and my family LOVED it! Doubled everything to make a huge batch and have leftovers for lunch. Will definitely cook this again.
