Well, cooked and eaten. Kids rated it 10/10, even the kid that doesn’t like macaroni and cheese. I love the fact that I controlled what went in to the mixture – no blue box, no jar of cheese spread, no frozen meal microwaved. Just the cheese the milk, the macaroni and the slow-cooker.

Thanks for this recipe. It’s going into my files.

  2. Wow! Absolutely delicious ?
I added half a leek instead of the ‘optional extra’ onion. Will definately be making again!

  3. This recipe is great! I make it every two weeks for my mac and cheese loving children. Goes into lunchboxes for daycare.

  4. Love Mac n cheese! Have tried it with the cream cheese but I prefer it without it so I just omit it an still turns out delicious. I add bacon, onion an tomato an sometimes place in a baking dish in the oven to brown it abit ?

  5. I made this Mac and cheese this afternoon. I didn’t add any bacon (trying to reduce meat) and used a vege stock cube. I also used both tasty and smoked cheddar, about 1/4 smoked cheddar to get the ‘bacony’ flavour. I also omitted the cream cheese (I didn’t have any) but added about 1/4 cup cream for richness. It was amazing! Even my fussy toddler had a second bowl. I will definitely making this again.

  6. My partner loves Mac n cheese & I needed a quick & easy work lunch idea for the busy week ahead. This is absolutely delicious. I cooked it for 2 hours, stirring ever 30 minutes. I decided to use the tea towel trick at the 1hr mark as it was still super liquidy & it worked a treat. It made 6 serves.

  7. Everytime I cook pasta in the slow cooker it goes gluggy, any suggestions? Even lasagna does it with the tea towel being used… 🙁
