Delicious thank you for suggestion made with creamy garlic Kiev’s and carbonara rather than tomato
I made this recipe tonight. Turned out great and the flavours are wonderful. I served the Chicken Kiev’s with steamed potatoes, carrots and broccoli… Highly recommended 🙂
Could you cook this on low for longer ?
Had cooked and liked the naked chicken parmigiana before so thought I would give this a try. Used a 4 pack of coles chicken Kiev in the meat department and 500 ml spaghetti bol sauce, added bacon and then the cheese. The dish was ready in 3 hrs high, full of flavour and the chicken moist. A definite winner, easy to make.thanks so much Hannah for the recipe!?
This was so easy and delicious! My two year old and three year old children enjoyed it too. I will definitely make this recipe again.
I made it in my new Breville Searing Slowcooker. I was able to easily fit 8 Kievs in a single layer. I’m going to freeze the leftovers. Hopefully they will defrost ok.
Thanks for sharing your recipe 🙂
What’s the tea towel trick?

Hannah Straw you are a complete legend! This recipe was so simple and very tasty indeed ??It’s a brilliant twist on our usual Kiev meal and will definitely be a regular on the menu at our place ? Thanks so much Hannah for sharing your fantastic creation for us to enjoy as well, we all loved it ?
Tried this recipe tonight, absolutely awful, never again!!
Delicious!! I also put thick slices of potato, quartered button mushrooms and sliced onion under the Kievs… made it more of a one pot meal, served with some steamed veges !!
Definitely do it again !!
Hi, do you use ready made Kievs for this dish please?
Yes 🙂
A big hit with everyone. Will Definatley be doing it again.
Thanks for tea tell trick.
Tea Towel Trick
My teen was not happy I didn’t put on 2 kievs for everyone. It was great. My hubby suggested putting the cheese on top when I got home from work as some of the cheese burned at the sides. Otherwise this dish was loved by all.
So delicious. This is such a quick and easy meal to prepare. I have cooked it for other family members when they were over for dinner and they said it was beautiful.
Can I use tomato paste or tomato tins? As I don’t have any passata
Want to make tonight Thanks
Yes Danielle crushed tin toms would work too 🙂
Can I put the Kiev’s in the slow cooker frozen?
No, defrost first 🙂
Although this way very yummy, I found the chicken to be over cooked and couldn’t taste any of the garlic from the Kiev’s. I know all slow cookers are different so next time I definitely won’t cook for as long. But hubby and the kids ate it so I will try it again!
Omg the BEST recipe ever. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
SENSATIONAL!!
We had planned to oven bake our kiev’s but at the last minute swapped to this recipe and OH MY!! Everyone LOVED it!
We used a pasta sauce with garlic and bacon in it instead of plain passata and I used a pizza blend of mixed cheeses.
Served with a salad – absolutely divine.
Even Mr 20 who was at a mates place for the night and planning take away, saw the photo of ours I sent him and decided to come straight back home to eat at our house instead!! Now THAT’S an endorsement! hahaha #happymumhappyhome
Made this tonight after reading it today (had the kiev’s in the fridge already)! Very nice, used the Leggo’s Bolognaise sauce instead.
Absolutely loved this and so did hubby.
Will definitely make this again.
I made the version with Leggo’s Bolognase pasta Sauce. It was so lovely, and quick and easy…. it will be on our list to make again 🙂
OMG!!!what can I say but one amazing dish with awesome flavours.
Next time I will cook my son’s separately with a white sauce as he gets reflux from tomato based sauces.
This is another winner keeper dish, I will stick to original recipe for hubby and me
Another dish on repeat for us ????????
I’ve just made this Chicken Kiev recipe with Chicken Cordonbleu toppas, as it was all I had at home. On a layer of pre microwaved potatoes mixed with garlic, oil and herbs.
Grated Tasty cheese on top. Finished off under the grill. Delicious 😋😋😋😋❤️❤️❤️
1st time cooking this, we used 2 Jars of a Creamy tomato bake sauce and added diced bacon. Enough sauce to use the next night over pasta. Will be on our menu again soon.
hi can I just put 4 chicken Kiev’s in SC with no sauce ?
If you try this I would recommend sitting them on baking paper so they don’t stick to base.
And I’d turn them during cooking also
This was a definite hit in our household. When my husband came home from work he called out from the garage “what is that awesome smell?” He loved it and so did the rest of us.
I didn’t have 700 ml of passata but a 500ml pasta sauce jar worked fine.
The only thing I would change is to cook on slow for longer as my cheese and chicken burnt on to the side of the slow cooker. And I will also add the cheese about 15 mins before serving as it got lost in the sauce.
My husband can’t wait until I cook this again!
Love that feedback Rhiannon!!!
My husband messaged this morning and said he can’t stop thinking about them! I guess I’ll be doing these again this week 🤤
Great recipe,
So simple yet tasty… I subbed passata for a dolmio sauce otherwise as per this recipe and it was superb, so much so that fussy Mr 17 asked can we have this again soon and took the 2 left over Kievs to work for lunch…
Next time I might even try a carbonara type sauce but if you’re looking for a quick, easy and delicious meal, this is it!!!!!
Hey Kev if you are looking for the Carbonara version here it is all ready for you HERE 🙂
Sensational and Easy
Tried it and the very fussy Mr 17 asked when we are having it again and took the two leftover kievs for work lunch the next day!
Chicken wasn’t overcooked and I served with chips…
If it’s an easy, tasty and pretty affordable meal, put this in your go to recipe folder
Loved it!! So simple and yet so tasty!
Husband loved it so will be on repeat.
What I loved is that apart from the Kievs all the ingredients are pantry staples.
This is so simple to make and is so delicious. A cheap and tasty family dinner that everyone enjoys. Since discovering this recipe a month ago, we have already made it 3 times!
