Italian Beef Cheek Casserole
A beautifully rich and hearty dish
Serving: 2
Ingredients
- 2-4 beef cheeks
- 2x Carrots
- 2-3 mushrooms
- 1x capsicum
- 1/2 cup spring onion
- 1 tin diced tomatoes
- 1/2 jar passata
- 1 cup beef stock
- 1/2 cup wine ( you can use red or white wine or balsamic vinegar as an alternative)
- 2-3 tsp crushed garlic
- 1tsp thyme
- 1tsp chilli
- 1tsp paprika
- 2 bay leaves
- splash soy sauce
- 3 tbs oyster sauce
Instructions
- Brown beef in a fry pan (optional)
- Add all ingredients into the slow cooker
- Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for around 4 hours.
Notes
- Passata is a thick tomato puree and can be found in your local supermarket in the same section as bolognaise sauces.
- This recipe also works well with lamb shanks or diced beef as an alternative to beef cheek.
