1.5-2kg boneless Pork Shoulder, trimmed of fat layer.

2 medium onions, thickly sliced

2 tsp minced garlic

1 x 375ml can of cola (Coke, Pepsi, Dr Pepper etc)

500g Honey BBQ Sauce


1Remove netting from pork, using a sharp knife to remove fat (set aside for crackling if desired)

2Lightly spray cooker bowl with cooking spray.

3Cover base with onion rings

4Place pork in the bowl.

5Smear pork with minced garlic

6Pour cola over pork

7Pour approx 450ml of sauce (keeping 50ml in reserve) over pork

8Cook on Low for around 7-9 hours. Pork is ready when it breaks up under gentle pressure.

9Carefully transfer pork into a bowl and shred with two forks.

10Ladle, or tip out, all but approx 2cm (1/4inch) of the liquid remaining in the slow cooker bowl.

11Return pork to slow cooker and add 50ml of Honey BBQ sauce kept in reserve. Stir.

12Cook on low for a further half hour.


14Serve with bread rolls, coleslaw and potatoes wedges.
