Green Beans with Bacon and Feta
Take your green beans to the next level by cooking them with bacon and in garlic butter, then top with crumbled feta for a flavoursome finish!
I could gladly eat these as a meal in themselves they are so good ?
Serving: 4
Ingredients
- 350g green beans, washed and ends trimmed
- 1.5Tbsp butter
- 200g diced bacon
- 3 cloves minced garlic
- 40g Greek Feta, crumbled
Instructions
- In a searing slow cooker (or fry pan) cook diced bacon in ½ Tbsp butter for 5-10mins until beginning to crisp
- Keep this cooking butter and bacon in slow cooker bowl and add remaining Tbsp butter and the garlic, mixing to melt butter and combine
- Add beans and toss through bacon and garlic butter to coat
- Cook on low for 1-2hrs (we prefer 1 hr – see below)
- Time can be adjusted to suit your preferred level of crispness for beans - 1hr will be slightly crisp & green beans – 2hrs will be soft and a darker colour beans
- Add beans and bacon pieces to serving plates and top with crumbled feta to serve.
- This recipe could also be doubled for an easy side to your next BBQ gathering etc 🙂
