Yields: 6 (depending on how much filling you choose to put in)
Ingredients
3 green apples, peeled, cored & sliced thinly
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon sugar
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
1/4 cup water
3 sheets puff pastry
1 egg for eggwash
Directions
1Put brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cinnamon sugar into a large bowl and mix together.
2Add the peeled apples and mix the spices all over the apples
3Place into the sc'er and pour 1/4 cup water over the top
4Sprinkle 1 Tablespoon lemon juice over the top
5Turn on High for 1:15
6Once time is up, drain the liquid off and let the apple cool down
7
8Cut puff pastry into two triangles (1 cut diagonally) and place about 1/3 - 1/2 cup of apples in the middle of each piece of puff pastry.
9Fold the edges over fully sealing the triangle and put 3 fork holes in the top
10Place into an oven on 200 degrees for 20 minutes (This may vary depending on which puff pastry you use)
Serve with icing sugar and whipped cream , it can be served cold or warm
I cooked this in a 1.5 lt slow cooker
The apple does still have a very slight crunch to it, if you want it 'stewed' then simply cook it longer
I have also used this filling and made apple pies as well using a pie maker
