A family favourite our ours. Full of flavour with a slight sweetness which makes it loved by my children.
Perfect on mashed potatoes or pulled apart and used in burgers or tacos with slaw.

1 to 1.5kg beef shin (osso bucco chops)
2 tbs plain flour
1 packet French onion soup mix
1 cup water
1/2 jar beerenberg caramelised onion chutney
1 Tbs soy sauce
2 Tbs Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbs vinegar
1 x 50gm sachet tomato paste
* Optional* chopped celery, carrot and potatoes
1Coat beef in flour, place in slow cooker. Add chopped veg if your using.
2Mix remaining ingredients in a jug and mix well. Pour over beef.
3Cook on low 5-6 hours or until meat falls off the bone.
4Serve on mashed potatoes with veg. Or shred and serve in soft tacos or burgers.

Beautiful recipe, thank you. I used diced chuck steak & added a heap of veg – cauliflower, broccoli, capsicum, carrots, brussel sprouts with whole baby potatoes added two hours before the end. Thickened beautifully & so tasty using my homemade tomato relish (in replacement for what relish recipe stated) that I had on hand. Will definitely make again.

So tasty and easy to make. I added carrot and celery as well as 1/2 a tin of diced tomatoes I had to use up. Served with mash and a green vegetable. Thank you for a wonderful recipe 😊

This was brilliant. Saucy, Rich, Delicious. I served with Mash potato and used chuck for a cheaper alternative and it was perfect. it was a clear winner in my house!

Sorry I forgot to say I also added carrot, celery & chopped potatoes
I made this using chuck steak & it was really nice & tasty, and the meat was very tender. . Otherwise I followed the recipe exactly.

Hi Susan, you sure can. You can use any stewing beef 🙂
Is it possible to use oyster blade steak or chuck steak instead.
