French Onion Osso Bucco

A family favourite our ours. Full of flavour with a slight sweetness which makes it loved by my children. Perfect on mashed potatoes or pulled apart and used in burgers or tacos with slaw.

  1. I made this using chuck steak & it was really nice & tasty, and the meat was very tender. . Otherwise I followed the recipe exactly.

  3. This was brilliant. Saucy, Rich, Delicious. I served with Mash potato and used chuck for a cheaper alternative and it was perfect. it was a clear winner in my house!

  4. So tasty and easy to make. I added carrot and celery as well as 1/2 a tin of diced tomatoes I had to use up. Served with mash and a green vegetable. Thank you for a wonderful recipe ?

Beautiful recipe, thank you. I used diced chuck steak & added a heap of veg – cauliflower, broccoli, capsicum, carrots, brussel sprouts with whole baby potatoes added two hours before the end. Thickened beautifully & so tasty using my homemade tomato relish (in replacement for what relish recipe stated) that I had on hand. Will definitely make again.

  6. Made this today I sauted carrot and celery to go with it, absolutely fabulous my 3 granddaughters cleared the plates. I served with mash potato and baby runner beans. This recipe is a keeper .Thank you.

  8. Second time ever having osso bucco and I think it’s my favourite now! Such a simple, easy recipe which is delicious. I cooked it for 7.5 hours on low with a touch of extra liquid. Will serve with mash and pumpkin for dinner tonight ?

  9. Tried this today and it was a big winner with my hubby. 10 out of 10 he said. Full of deliciousness and flavour. As I love cooking with herbs I added 1 teaspoon each of dried thyme and Italian herbs. I also added fruit chutney as I didn’t have any caramelised onion in the pantry. Highly recommend this recipe

    Yum!
We enjoyed trying this recipe tonight thanks Kristy 🙂
Next time I may reduce French onion to half pkt just to lower salt slightly but would definitely do this again and it would adapt to other meats too Eg lamb chops or a shredded brisket – very tasty!
