    1 hr 30 mins

    1 hr 40 mins

  • Yields: Variable

3 cups SR Flour

2 cups Warm water

1/2 teaspoon Salt

Toppings of your choice

1The sky is the limit for the possible variations of this bread. Include whatever toppings you like to make the variety you desire. Savoury or sweet.

2This could include Pizza focaccia, Herb and Garlic focaccia, Sun-dried tomato & Olive focacia, Ham & Cheese focaccia, Parmesan & Chive Focaccia ... the possibilities are endless!

4Line slow cooker inner bowl with non stick baking paper and spray with non stick cooking spray

5Turn on HIGH to preheat while you prepare the ingredients

6Mix flour, water and salt. (no kneading required just mix)

7Combine half of your chosen ingredients into the basic bread mix and combine.

8Place the bread mix in the slow cooker and top with remaining ingredients (and cheese to melt on top if you wish)

9Place a tea towel between the slow cooker bowl and the lid of the slow cooker to catch condensation and prevent your bread going soggy.

10Cook on HIGH for approximately 90mins (machines vary)

12*note* This recipe produces a heavy damper like bread so the more toppings you add the better to the resulting flavour

This recipe couldnโ€™t be easier. I just threw in what I had available – salami, Parmesan cheese and chives with a sprinkle of pepper. Cooked for closer to 1 hr 45 mins. Tastes great. Canโ€™t wait to try a sweet version!

Love this
So easy and yummy

No it needs to spread out over a larger surface area than the narrow deep 1.5L

Wow this recipe is so easy and so yummy . I made a gluten free Foccacia swapping only the gf SR flour and I added 2 handfuls of diced bacon, 2 handfuls of cheese and heaps of garlic powder and mixed through . On top I placed more diced bacon and cheese and a little more garlic powder . I found that after 90 mins the top needed 3 mins under the grill to brown up.
The inside felt a little soft but think it was from the amount of cheese inside. Tasted amazing hot with some butter and vegemite. Will be a regular rotation.

Delicious. I folded 1/2cup diced bacon and 1/2 cup grated cheese through the focaccia and the same on top. I browned top in oven with grill.

This was the perfect side to have with our spaghetti bolognese last night ๐Ÿ˜‹ This time round I used Italian herbs, onion flakes, minced garlic & grated tasty cheese – I added some of this to the dough mix and then added the rest to the top of the loaf. Cooked on high for 1.5hrs with a tea towel under the lid ๐Ÿ™‚ Such a fantastically easy recipe to make, with so many yummy variations to try also ๐Ÿ˜€ Love this recipe, thanks for sharing it with us Paulene Christie ๐Ÿ˜Š

Fantastic suggestions Leni!

I make this all the time. My children’s favourites are:
Apple and cinnamon
– reduce water to 1 cup
– add 1 cup warm homemade applesauce
– add 1/3 tablespoon baking powder
– add cinnamon to taste

Hot cross bun loaf
– add 1/2 cup currants
– add 3 tablespoons allspice
– add 1/3 tablespoon baking powder

You can make pumpkin bread too!
– substitute water with warm pumpkin puree
– add 1/3 tablespoon baking powder
– add your choice of either 1/2 cup cheese or 3 tablespoons pumpkin spice
