Chicken paprika! Winner winner chicken dinner :) Kids even had seconds. Easy, cheap, yummy slow cooker meal.
6 hrs 20 mins
8 large chicken drumsticks
1 tablespoon or Vegeta
2 cups of plain flour
2 tablespoons of tomato paste
2 tablespoons of sweet paprika
1 brown onion, sliced
250g stick of butter
100ml of sour cream
3 cups of water
500g of spiral pasta or any you prefer
Dash of pepper
1Combine the flour, vegeta, 1 tablespoon of paprika in a large bowl season with pepper.
2Add the chicken and gently toss to evenly coat in flour mix ( keep flour mix aside for later)
3Add 150g of butter into fry pan on a medium heat until foaming, add chicken and cook evenly until evenly brown and set aside.
4In slower cooker add rest of butter and saute onion until transparent. And butter is melted.
5Add tomato paste, half a cup of the flour mix, 1 tablespoon of paprika a dash of pepper and stir until a nice paste .
6Add chicken to slow cooker and coat in paste as well as possible. ( don't worry too much as water will be added)
7Make sure all chicken is compacted together nicely as when adding water you just want the water sitting just below top of chicken. (too much water makes it to runny)
8Mix all ingredients well in slow cooker.
9Cook on low heat in slow cooker for 6hrs
10After this time remove chicken and either shred from bone or breast. Leave aside.
11Meanwhile boil pasta
12Add sour cream to slow cooker and stir well.
13Replace chicken back in slow cooker.
14Strain pasta and add to slow cooker
15Stir and serve.
1This is a family recipe handed down to me. Its an easy hearty meal sure to get the kids asking for more.
2I cooked this in a contempo 5 in 1 pessure cooker 6 litre

Made this tonight for dinner. My partner and I loved it. We used chicken breast and added minced garlic but it was so good! Will definitely be a regular meal in our house now 😍

This recipe is so delicious! I used chicken breast instead of drumsticks and cooked on high for 2hrs then turned down low for 1 hr. I also added 3TBS of crushed garlic to the onion and chicken breast and sauteed all together before adding to sc. Fantastic recipe that we will make regularly here 🙂 Thank you so much for sharing your family recipe with us Sheri, we loved it 😊
