  1. Was quite dubious about this but we really enjoyed it! I did have to add cornflour to thicken the sauce but the rest was perfect.

This is one of the best slow cooker recipes I’ve made! The whole family loved it and even though I doubled the recipe (because I needed to use up sausages) and there are only three of us, there’s not much left. I modified it to make it low carb and it came out great. I skipped the onions because I’m not really a fan of a lot of obvious onion (and the original recipe says they’re optional), and I replaced the sugar with sugar free maple syrup and left out the water. It didn’t come out sticky, but it did come out delicious! The sauce mixed beautifully into the garlicky cauliflower mash too.

  3. Was not too sweet as I originally thought. Served with creamy mash.
My son raved about this one – “hey mum, you didn’t ruin the sausages”.

  4. This is a favourite of mine, love it with potato, mashed, baked or scalloped. I use any mustard i have, powdered or english, still devine. Also i always brown my sausages so there is no funny skin in my dishes, so dont know how it would be without browning.

  5. I’m not sure what I did wrong, but I was so disappointed in this recipe. I followed it exactly, but at the end, I had no sauce and no evidence of stickiness.

  6. This recipe is a family favourite. It jazzes up boring old sausages when the kids love sausages but you don’t. So simple to make. Only takes a matter of minutes. I find it needs a cornflour slurry at the end of cooking in order to make the sauce nice & thick otherwise its a bit watery.

  7. Made this for the first time last night. As others said I thickened the sauce at the end with some cornflour. Served with mashed potatoes. It was really delicious & when I asked the fussy husband if he would have it again he said yes! That’s a win for me

  8. 5 stars
Was really yummy and something different to our regular sausage meals.

I used honey flavored sausages so didn’t add as much sugar and as I used 2 packets of sausages, I had to adjust the liquid accordingly.
