  1. Most slow cookers require liquid in the earthenware bowl or they will crack or even disintegrate.
Only the metal-bowled slow cookers would be suitable for this recipe.

    1. We always use our metallic type bowl slow cooker for this recipe
However since that wasn’t clear I’ve added it now in the recipe notes.
      Thanks 🙂
We often cook dry in our ceramic bowls also and have never had a problem or any break but of course if you are not sure it’s always recommended to check with your manual and decide what you wish to do with yours 🙂

  2. 5 stars
    Turned out awesome.
I lined my sc with baking paper. I preheated it only while waiting for dough to prove.

To bring out flavours, I microwaved the chirozo, bacon and onion first. Then I zapped the rest of the toppings to bring it up to temp.

I made my dough in the Thermomix using the Thermomix recipe.

Next time I’ll divide the dough into 3rds rather than 1/2. The base was cooked through, but just a tad stodgy and thicker than I like (could’ve also been that I bought wholemeal ? flour by mistake instead of white ? flour).

First home made ? in 2.5 years
