An easy slow cooked meatballs recipe using ready made meatballs (or you can use home made if your prefer)

  • Prep: 30 mins
  • Cook: 4 hrs
  • Yields: 4-6 serves

1pkt pre made meatballs (I use a pork and beef combo)

1 tin of tomatoes

2 cups beef stock

1/2 diced onion

3 cloves garlic crushed

salt &pepper

mixed herbs

bay leaf

teaspoon of sugar

1Seal off meatballs in pan and transfer to slow cooker

2Add onions, garlic, tomatoes, beef stock, sugar, mixed herbs, bay leaf, salt a pepper in a bowl or jug mix to combine and pour into slow cooker

3Cook on low for 3/4 hours, depending on the slow cooker I use can be ready between 3 to 4 hours

4Serve with your choice of pasta

I tried this tonight and it was so watery. After 4 1/2 hrs I had to serve it, the fkavours were nice but it was just clear water with a tinge of red. So dissapointed I followed the recipe but its way to much liquad.

What size of a “tin” of tomatoes? We have cans that are around 14 oz and others that are large…28-32 oz
