Delicious! Have been chasing a good garlic sauce for awhile now and this was a hit, added a little shredded cheese the second time making it which was yum also.
Went perfectly with the lemonade silverside 😉
Tried this tonight. Delicious. Even my 8 year old son liked it. He doesn’t like alot of sauce.
We had left over sauce. I froze it. Defrosted it today. As delicious as the day I made it.
That is fantastic to know!
Thanks Erica 🙂
Love this sauce! I have it over roast chicken. I add a little extra garlic. Yesterday I also added parmesan and some onion powder at the beginning. Can’t wat for the seconds tonight!
Love it ?. Made this last night and had it on meatball subs
Thanks for sharing this recipe.
Definitely a keeper ?
Tried this tonight, the sauce split and it looks like there is way too much butter?
Followed the recipe but added Parmesan as I’d seen in the comments.
Any ideas?
I would follow recipe exactly (without adding cheeses) as that’s how it’ intended to be done 🙂
Also did you use “cooking cream” as listed?
More info on splitting HERE
If you don’t have mustard powder can you use mustard instead?
I have Dijon, seeded and mild English muffin, would any of those substitute okay?0
Most amazing garlic sauce I’ve ever had under my own roof!!
Now I didn’t add the mustard sauce as we had none but wow this sauce left us speechless!
Hi, do you add the mustard at the beginning or towards the end of the cook?
Thanks in advance.
Toward the beginning 🙂
This sauce was ahhmazing! Wish I’d tried it sooner. I used it as a tuna Mornay sauce, and even my fussy kid licked her bowl! Definitely going to be a regular in our rotation.
If I was to use minced garlic instead of cloves would that work and what would the ratio be?
That’s no problem Bianca. Just check your jar but most will say 1tsp + 1 clove
Cooked this & used as a choice with gravy! Everyone loved it & none left however plenty of gravy left!
This sauce was so deliciously easy!!! I didn’t add the mustard, next time I will add shallots for a little extra zing! It paired beautifully with my homemade schnitzel, now I want to get some prawns. I’m hoping it does freeze well because I have heaps! Is there anything my slow cooker can’t do????
In answer to your question, haha no, nothing we can’t do!! 😉
Well except maybe deep fried is the only exception but who needs that anyway 🙂
the best garlic sauce, easy to make, goes with anything! kids love it with pasta and as a dipping sauce, I like it over the top of a steak or chicken breast
Great suggestions Joanne!
Pauline ok to use light n creamy carnation insead of full cream.. Use it all the time…was wondering if that would split in SC in this receipe!! Sounds ‘delish’ !!..cheers H
I’ve never used a carnation milk in this one myself Helen – I fear it would split and you’d be lacking the full creamy nature that’s intended of this sauce
Some tips that might help HERE
If you try it do let me know how it went ok? 🙂
Loved loved this sauce I made it on stove top made it to the recipe except added 2 extra cloves of garlic and it only took about 15 mins on stove top added cooked prawns when it was ready and served it with angle hair spaghetti everyone I’ve served it to wants recipe good one no sorry excellent one
So quick and easy. I added more garlic towards the end for a bit more flavour. Threw in cooked prawns and cooked pasta at the end and the fam loved it!
