  1. I cooked this on Easter Sunday n it was really yummy but I used my 5 litre sc so next time I’ll be adding another 300mls of cooking cream, I should’ve realised as this recipe is made in the 1.5 litre sc, will definitely be making again ???

  2. I tried this tonight. I had to use coconut cream because my daughter cannot have cream. I didn’t use the onion or bacon because we were trying for a quick easy dinner and this was perfect, it was delicious and even with the coconut cream it was great! Would make again.

Made this tonight and it was delsih. Nice and creamy. Potatoes were cooked perfectly. I think next time i might add some cheese in some of the layers. I also didnt have any bacon ?

  4. Great recipe! I’ve done a couple of variations now. First time I followed recipe, was a bit salty with the French onion soup. Second time I used half the amount of soup mix, and added sweet potato every third layer. Third time used vegeta as I didn’t have soup mix and didn’t use onion. All were fantastic!

  5. I love potato bake and find it hard to find a recipe I really like and this one is delicious.
I cooked it in my 1.5lt SC on HIGH and it cooked in 2 hours which was when I added the cheese on top and after it melted I put it under my grill for a few minutes to brown up.
I do agree with a comment made above that next time I would add some cheese in the layers too and the only other thing I would change is I would peel the potato’s but that’s just personal taste thing for me. Absolutely delicious!

  6. Made this tonight as a side with sausages. I followed the recipe to the letter and it was absolutely delicious! It was actually my first time using my 1.5L and my first time making a potato bake so I was very pleased. Easy to put together and the result was perfect potatoes, perfect creaminess and cheesiness. Perfect size for the 4 of us as well. Definitely a new favourite

  7. Yummo. I did 1/2 potatoe 1/2 sweet potatoe also adding cheese between the layers. Very saucy. I found it burnt a little on the bottom, which didn’t ruin the flavour, I am still getting used to the baby so probably should have turned it to low a bit sooner

  8. Loved this. I did put cheese inbetween the layers and no bacon as I dnt eat it. Also didn’t do the tea towel trick as I get a bit nervous with that but still turned out so tasty for our bbq got lots of compliments. Will be making this more and more

  9. I made this last night as side dish it was so yummy still got left overs for tea tonight was the first time making this

  10. I’m in the US. Can our form of bacon be used in this dish? (I believe it’s called streaky bacon there) If so, do fry it before putting it in the crockpot/slow cooker?

Made a couple of days ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. Instead of French onion soup I used vegetable stock powder and placed a couple of layers of cheese in the middle. At the 3 hr 15 min mark I put grated cheese on top with a tea towel and had a failure! lol, when I checked it at 3 1/2 hrs I had more cheese on the tea towel than on the spuds! I just removed the tea towel all together. The 3 1/2 hours on low wasn’t enough, did another hour on high and the potato was still a touch firm. When scooped out the leftovers I found it had caught just a little bit on the bottom. Oh and I didn’t waste the cheese on the tea towel, it was a nice little taste of what was to come! Will definitely try again.

Made this as a side tonight, was really yummy. I pretty much followed the original recipe, except didn’t add bacon and was still nice. I didn’t have cooking cream so I used pouring cream mixed with 1 heaped tsp cornflour as per previous comments. Also mine was cooked after 2 hours 15 mins on high. Maybe my Adesso 1.5 lt cooker might run hotter, not sure cos first time I’ve used it! ?

  13. Wow so easy and tasted great.
As I was running short on time I did par boil the potato slices.
    Will definitely make again

This is an awesome recipe – either as a side dish or a light meal.
I have made it several times now at home, and took some to my mums. She loved it so much we have made it again today at her place on her baby 1.5l SC.
