Serving: 5
Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 5 hours
Total Time 5 hours 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1kg chicken thigh fillets (raw and whole)
  • 2 tsp curry powder (see notes) - I use Keen's brand
  • 1 diced onion
  • 1 x 320g small jar of fruit chutney

Instructions

  • Add chicken to slow cooker and top with onion
  • Sprinkle over curry powder (see notes)
  • Spoon over chutney and stir around to combine all ingredients
  • Cook on low for 5hrs
  • Shred to serve

Notes

  • Recipe will appear to have a lot of liquid at the end but once you shred chicken well into that liquid it absorbs it
  • This is a mild curry. If cooking for little ones they may prefer only 1tsp of curry powder for less curry taste

This was really good! (And really easy too!)
The only thing that I did different was that I used 1.4kg chicken breast and a 525g of chutney.

    This was tonight’s dinner.
I stepped it up a little. I had a half tin of diced peachesleft over from another dish
Also added two teaspoons sweet chilli sauce.

  14. Family of three. Always really difficult to find something we all love as we have very different tastes. We all absolutely loved this, but I added extra curry and it was a little too hot for my hubby, so I’ll stick to your quantity next time and it should be perfect. Thanks. First of many recipes that I’ll be trying.

I did add a tsp of brown sugar also, just for an extra bit of flavour
We put it with rice and Doritos.
    Will be making again 🙂
