Chicken and French Onion Casserole
Serve with rice and steamed broccoli.
Serving: 6
Ingredients
- 1.3 - 1.5kg chicken thigh fillets
- 1-2 packets French Onion Soup Mix
- 3 Tblspns plain flour
- 2 small onions, sliced
- 4 rashers bacon, diced
- 1-2 cups water
- Sour Cream
- Parsley
Instructions
- Add flour and dry soup mix in a snap lock or freezer bag (if you like lots of sauce use 2 packets soup mix). Add chicken and coat well. Brown chicken and add to slow cooker with bacon and onion.
- Add 1 cup of water (per packet of soup mix - 2 packets = 2 cups of water) to the left over flour and soup mix, whisk well and pour over chicken.
- Cook for around 6 hours on low.
- When cooked add sour cream (I use 4-5 tablespoons) and chopped parsley.
- I use salt reduced French Onion soup
- Serve with rice and steamed broccoli.
