Chicken and Creamy Bacon Gravy

My family loves chicken and gravy but wanted something creamy with bacon so decided to turn it into a creamy version.
Plates were licked clean so think it was a winner 🙂

  1. Tried this with chicken sausages. I used 300ML of double/cooking cream as I didn’t want the rest of the carton to go to waste. I also used extra gravy power. It was so nice! I love creamy sauces. Was definitely a nice take on just gravy. Will be making it again very soon!

  2. Delicious. Added half a packet of salt reduced french onion soup instead of onion powder and omitted the cream (300ml double cream). Put cream in 15 mins before serving with some cornflower to thicken. Used a 175gr packet of shortcut bacon and added thyme. Increased water to about a cup and a half of water. Served on a bed of sweet potato/potato mash. Broccoli, cauliflower and carrots on the side. Lots of tasty, creamy gravy, heaps of flavour. A definite winner!

This was absolutely delish! We love everything saucy. We usually alter some recipes to our own taste, but this recipe is perfect the way it is ??

  4. LOVED this so much! I used 1kg of chicken breast instead as that’s my preferred cut of chicken, and it was beautiful the chicken just pulled apart! My cream also split a bit but managed to save it by taking the chicken out, and put a teaspoon of cornflour in it and whisked it and it came together again.. did that 5 minutes before serving! Highly recommend this!

  5. I loved this recipe. I used chunks of chicken breast not thighs. I had to add extra gravy powder. I served it with garlic mash potato. I was a big serving so next time if we have left overs i wil be making pies with it to put in freezee for when the kids are hungry.

  6. Very easy to make was a hit in my house I used chicken fillets as they were huge it took 4 hours on high to cook had with rice. ?

Denise I would probably use 1 onion and and as much garlic as your family likes (my daughter would probably add a good tblspn of minced garlic/3 cloves)

  8. Mmmm!
    Had this tonight!
I am a bit of a slow cook novice and this is the first recipe I’ve cooked whilst at work all day.
I added a chopped onion and healthy teaspoon of garlic paste ( as I don’t have onion or garlic powder )
I omitted the cream ( until I got home).
Upon getting home, I added a bulk lot of sliced mushroom, after cooked through, I added about half a cup of cream.
    Served with green beans.
    Mmmmmmm
