  • 80 g oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1?4 teaspoon dried chilli flakes
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1.2 kilos of chicken (I used 9 chicken Drumsticks)
  • 2 lemons, quartered
  • 1 garlic bulb, halved across the cloves
  • 4 shallots, peeled and chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano


  • In a small bowl/jug, whisk together the oil, honey (if using), paprika, onion powder, chilli flakes and salt and pepper.
  • Place the chicken in SC bowl.
  • Pour the oil mixture over the chicken, turning to coat on all sides.
  • Arrange the lemon, garlic and shallot around and under the chicken and sprinkle on the herbs.
  • Optional: cover the chicken and place in the fridge to marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight (I did NOT do this).
  • Cook on LOW 8 hours or HIGH 4 hours.
  • Serve with Rice and Steamed Vegetables.
