80 g oil

2 tablespoons honey (optional)

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon onion powder

1⁄4 teaspoon dried chilli flakes

salt and freshly ground black pepper

1.2 kilos of chicken (I used 9 chicken Drumsticks)

2 lemons, quartered

1 garlic bulb, halved across the cloves

4 shallots, peeled and chopped

1 teaspoon dried oregano


1In a small bowl/jug, whisk together the oil, honey (if using), paprika, onion powder, chilli flakes and salt and pepper.


3Place the chicken in SC bowl.

4Pour the oil mixture over the chicken, turning to coat on all sides.

5Arrange the lemon, garlic and shallot around and under the chicken and sprinkle on the herbs.

6Optional: cover the chicken and place in the fridge to marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight (I did NOT do this).

7Cook on LOW 8 hours or HIGH 4 hours.


9Serve with Rice and Steamed Vegetables.
